About this deal

Gloomspite Gitz have several strong magic options, with lots of different casters and spell options. Moonclan used to have easy access to boosting casting through eating mushrooms, however those options have now been changed. Jonathan Roberts – Lumineth Realm-lords (5-0): It’s the Helon Teclis list you’ve seen the past month or so on this column, with Gnashing Jaws and a unit of Wardens instead of 10 more Sentinels than typical They have access to two new abilities (on top of the traditional Gloomspite ones): Snarlfang’s Jaws gives them a chance to do up to 6 damage to an enemy engaged (on a 6 depending on the ability’s value), while Ferocious Ponce guarantees that damage at the end of a move phase, but also depends on the ability’s value meaning it seems a bit overpriced as a Quad. I painted up a bunch more Garden of Morr terrain, and even scratch-built a bunch of cute little flat pieces of graveyard terrain, using up some Renedra gravestones and plastic flagstones I had lying around. Some of them warped a bit, unfortunately, but are perfectly useable. May

What is impressive I think about the Stormcast book is that despite being the first book released, it’s managed to stay relevant throughout all the releases that have since followed and after taking several significant nerfs. This list wants to be more versatile than what it’s facing off against, with access to Deep Strike, very potent long range shooting as well as one of the premiere hammer/anvil combo units in the game in the Fulminators. During deployment, instead of setting up this unit on the battlefield, you can place it to one side and say that it is set up hidden as a reserve unit. You can set up 1 unit hidden in this manner for each friendly MOONCLAN GROT unit consisting of 5 or more models that is on the battlefield and that does not have the SQUIG or FANATIC keyword. And I finally painted Elathain’s Soulraid, completing my collection of Underworlds warbands up to the end of the Direchasm season. I completed them in time to take them to the RMRO in December, where I played a couple of games with them which really rekindled my interest in Underworlds. The Gloomspite Gitz share a worship of the Bad Moon and are united under Skragrott the Loonking. The Bad Moon is a portent for lunacy and predicting its appearance is of crucial importance to the Gloomspite Gitz. The Bad Moon is at the centre of the Gloomspite Gitz’ allegiance ability. The Loonboss is the military commander of the Moonclan Grots and as such he is an essential leader even of a Sneaky Skrap.I painted a Frostgrave Thaumaturge and 15 assorted Frostgrave soldiers, cultists and barbarians. These are intended for use in Frostgrave, Magewinds and general purpose fantasy gaming. August

Alternatively, Boingrot Bounders are also really good hitters and more survivable although they cost around a fifth of your warband. It is possible to have a viable elite-only warband with Squig Riders, but that is not really the point of a Gitz Skrap… or is it? With each new army for Warhammer Age of Sigmar we now get a faction specific terrain piece which is deployed at the start of the battle without a points cost – think Sylvaneth Wyldwoods, Deepkin boats, Maggotkin of Nurgle trees and Beasts of Chaos herdstones. For Gloomspite Gitz, it is the Loonshrine. Note: if you haven’t read the basic rules for Warcry before reading this article, it might be helpful to know that the game’s abilities are activated by using 6 dice that you roll at the start of your turn.Zachary Shinn – Skaven: A double Verminlord + Thanquol list that goes light on bodies and heavy on Endless spells, taking Spellportal, Warp Lightning Vortex and Lauchon (for Thanquol) Gloomspite Gitz saw some point adjustments, mostly going down to justify the overall decrease in Wounds and Strength, bringing the basic Grot to a mere Strength 2. Biggest loser is the Cave Squig that got quite nerfed, but it also costs half now. Biggest winner the Scuttleboss that saw Strength and Damage going up but also his points by 35! Gloomspite Gitz Wizardsunder the Bad Moon get +1 to their casting rolls, while all other wizards get -1

A Knight of Shrouds is a traitor to his own kin, a turncoat who took the chance to rule in Nagash’s hellish dystopia rather than serve in Sigmar’s heaven-sent armies. He has bartered away his soul in exchange for generalship of a powerful undead host. Keldrek commands a great number of Nighthaunt wraiths in battle, and gathers the forces of the dead behind him as he travels the lands, ever seeking to bring Nagash’s justice to errant souls. The bite of his blade is as grave-cold as his immortal heart. However, we now have a whole new unit variant called Sporesplatta Fanatics. At 120 points for five models, this unit has a number of cool features, including: Da Choppas clan is really the only one I wouldn’t rate at all, and would highly recommend the generic traits and relics over this. If you’re running lots of Brutes there may be something here, pabble rouser is probably worth looking at with force multipliers getting more multiply-ee is a good thing. I would probably just ignore them. Learning about list building, and enacting counters to these, is where a player rises above others. If you go first, can you plan around ASSUMING you’ll get doubled on? Do you need to hope for the best or can you prevent a harsh turn around? The Fungoid Cave-Shaman is an amazing model and saw lots of use in Mixed Destruction armies before the release of the Gloomspite Gitz battletome. Its previous command ability allowed one friendly Grot or Orruk unit wholly within 18″ to charge at the start of the following charge phase (even if that unit had ran or retreated). This gave the army great movement for its hammer units. Simon Eccles – Flesh-eater Courts: Speccles brings the long in the tooth FEC book to an impressive 4-1 finish, with this Blisterskin list relying heavily on summoning on additional bodies to supplement the double big boys and 9 Crypt Flayers

I received a Stardrake cheap and pre-built (including magnetized rider options!) from a fellow Rollmodel, and painted that up. This was one of the biggest models I’ve ever painted, and quite a big project. Very pleased with it. One day she might even get to play. Do you Gloomspite Gitz vets think it'll hold it's own? Do you think it'll be fun to play? What would you change? And what are the main weaknesses/strengths of this list? As with all recent Warhammer Age of Sigmar battletomes, Games Workshop aims to have a variety of available army builds within the same faction. The Loonboss on Mangler Squig gives you a powerful, fast hero unit for 300 points. At that points cost you could take two. Plus add the Fight Another Day command trait to be able to charge and retreat as well and the Squig Lure spell to run and charge.

Gloomspite Gitz Review: Essentials

Troggothscan re-roll the dice to see if they regenerate wounds, or double the results of their first roll. The folks at Cubicle 7 have been sharing more information on the different Destruction characters that you'll get to play as in Champions Of Destruction. Why be good when you can be a rampaging and sneaky Gloomspite Git? Gloomspite Gitz can have “one-drop” army builds, with Squigalanche likely to be the strongest of the “one-drop” option from a competitive matched play standpoint.
