About this deal

The classic social pressures mean that it can feel very shameful for a boy to… be perceived as weak. There’s more to a loving sex life than an erection, that’s more the icing on the cake 😊 Also all chaos seem to want a bigger penis, no matter how big the one they have is! A big thank you to the author and publisher of this book for sending me a copy of this book to review. Through him, I learned about Manhood: The Bare Reality, which I had the opportunity to read and review in the fall.

Transformational manhood” is in a step in the right direction, but we should continue moving closer to just “humanhood.

There could well be an argument for the presentation of an erect penis photo alongside the flaccid one, given that this is a normal state for the penis; perhaps there is too much taboo around this - as well as the censors pen, to make it a viable proposition though. As I read the book, I saw many interesting things, and I’m not even referring to the multitude of penises (there is also a strong narrative of what word to use when referring to the penis as throughout the book; I settled for the anatomical term in this piece).

However, what is most revealing about these quotes delves into why men might keep things close to their chest. The long-awaited second instalment in Samantha Shannon's Sunday Times and New York Times-bestselling series Tunuva Melim is a sister of the Priory. This book is a sequel of sorts to The Bare Reality, the original book in the series where 100 women had their breasts photographed and shared what it meant to them to be a woman. As I was typing this, I really had to wonder – were the interviews taped while they were still naked or did they get dressed first?Penises are often seen as signs of prowess or potency, or used a weapons and tools of harm against women and other men.

I’m positive not all men think just like this book, but these 100 men are leading a path to discussing real issues and real thoughts. Here, through the pictures and stories, the men and their man respective "manhoods" are celebrated as vulnerable, complex, insecure, brave, full of hopes and disappointments, the subjects of tragedy and achievement. Laura and the creation of 'Womanhood' were the subject of a documentary for Channel 4, '100 Vaginas', which received 5 star reviews and has been broadcast around the world. My books Bare Reality: 100 women, their breasts, their stories, Manhood: The Bare Reality and Womanhood: The Bare Reality attracted worldwide media coverage and critical acclaim.Just as Bare Reality: 100 women, their breasts, their stories presented the un-airbrushed truth about breasts for women, Manhood: The Bare Reality shows us the spectrum of ‘normal’, revealing men’s penises and bodies in all their diversity and glory, dispelling body image anxiety and myths.
