All of Graham’s Tawny Ports have their own individual characteristics, the complex flavours and aromas that pervade each of these unique wines have been developed through selecting only our top quality wines from Graham’s four spectacular Quinta’s in the Douro Valley to age in seasoned oak casks in our 1890 Lodge in Vila Nova de Gaia. In much the same way as the 20 and 30 Year Old Tawny, the 40 Year Old is a masterclass in the art of blending aged wines but stepped up another notch. The Instituto dos Vinhos do Douro e Porto (IVDP or Port and Douro Wine Institute) regulates the Port industry in Portugal. If the person being thus queried does not know the ritual (and so replies in the negative), the querent will remark ""He's an awfully nice fellow, but he never remembers to pass the port"".Including using solar power to generate electricity and recycling materials used in the winemaking process. Grahams aged tawnies show a characteristic “nutty” quality and delicious mature honeyed fruit, exquisitely mellowed by ageing in seasoned oak casks.

After receiving twenty seven barrels of Port as a payment through their textiles business, they decided to focus all their energy on making the best Port wines from the Douro Valley. On the palate, an array of flavours from delicate fruit and raisins to toasted toffee and chocolate with an outstanding after taste. O. Tawny Port is a beautifully aged and luxurious fortified wine that showcases rich and complex flavors. These are among the most demanding and challenging styles of Port to produce, requiring great skill and years of experience from the winemaker.
