About this deal

Indeed, the characters are likeable and have me well vested from the servants to our hero and heroine. And while I’m still really enjoying the narrator’s presentation of this book, I did begin to struggle with this story more than the first two in the series.

Though she finds the brooding scientist just as enigmatic and intense as ever, their partnership is now marked by an unfamiliar tension that seems to complicate every encounter. On top of that bad news; the accused of the gruesome crime is none other than the victims twin Nicholas Locke. But I know I’ll be picking up Murder at Queen’s Landing the next time the mood for a compelling historical mystery strikes! Now, treat yourself to reading the first two, if only for the very emotional scene where Wrexford gives the boys their names. Not even a visit to Nick in Newgate dims Charlotte’s belief that he can’t possibly be guilty – even if does cast a dark pall over her determination to win him free.

It is the story of how a relationship grows and the changes you have to embrace for yourself and those you love. Raven and Hawk are funny, smart, and vulnerable in how much they love Charlotte and both love and are in awe of Wrexford.Wrexford and Sloane must unravel secrets within secrets—including a few that entangle their own hearts—when they reunite to solve a string of shocking murders that have horrified Regency London.

As a respectable young widow she lives quietly but likes to accompany a titled friend to investigate crimes. A Regency lady with a hidden past joins forces with an irritable aristocrat to solve a dastardly series of crimes. The present volume was so satisfying, however, that it made me an insta-fan and regretful not to have discovered it from the get-go. I don't think they belong in regency era vocabulary, but it was not enough to spoil the flow of the story. When her cousin is murdered and his twin brother is accused of the gruesome crime, Charlotte turns to Wrexford.Charlotte sends her adorable wards with a note to Wrexford to get his knowledge of the latest murder victim.
