Don't shoot at point blank range – foam darts are soft, but if you get hit by them at very close range they might sting a little. The darts won't have any chance to slow down in the air, so at that range they'll be hitting you as hard as they can. Kids' verdict: Kids were drawn to the exciting design of this toy, especially because of the scope and the exciting pump-action firing mechanism. Some found the single-shot capacity frustrating as they often got hit several times by their friends while reloading. Kids' verdict: This motorised, rapid-fire blaster was a hit with the kids. Although not the most accurate, it has a brilliant range and the kids enjoyed raining foam darts on their foes with little effort or skill needed. Kids' verdict: Not quite their favourite overall, but the kids loved the quirky design and easy firing mechanism of the Claw Hunter. They found it easy to reload and fire, and the dinosaur eggs that come included make for a fun target practice game, too. Just as importantly, these blasters are some of the best looking ones I’ve seen from Zuru, with high quality construction and flourishes. They’ve even added dart storage to make your target shooting (or battling) easier. The inflatable target is nice, too.
