Nickelback is the 11th best selling musical act of all time with over 50,000,000 units sold and the 2nd best selling "foreign" group in the U.In early 2019, band members spoke of recording a tenth studio album, though Chad Kroeger conceded there was no timetable or rush for the band to complete it. And after all, the album still averages out in usual Nickelback fashion, in which there’s no edge or transgression, or ambition outside of the broadest plays for the down-the-middle rock crowd. Especially in the case of Nickelback, theirs is among the most harmless overall, likely a result of its abject broadness and lack of real edge or significant depth. Tidal Wave's summery haze is deliciously strung out, one of those hypnotic songs that gets better with each play, and its dreamlike lilt contrasts with Steel Still Rusts' serious-as-cancer cautionary tale. The album's lead single " San Quentin" was released on September 7, 2022, accompanied by an official lyric video.
