While most who plan to use these trainers for casual runs or hikes will appreciate the slightly wider forefoot, serious trail runners or hikers who always tackle uneven terrain might struggle with the roominess of the forefoot. The tongue is connected to the upper on both sides which keeps the tongue centered and keeps debris out, It also adds to the overall look of the shoe.

The Sense Ride 2 however is more full featured and has a superior fit to the upper, better breathability, lighter and lesser lugs for better door to trail functionality. When running on the wet and muddy ground, the shoe's deep chevron lugs dig into the ground, anchoring you in place. We test each shoe in the field and connect these with the results of our lab tests to provide a full view of each shoe.They fit much wider than most Salomons, and so could appeal to a wider audience, and are a good choice on the budget end of the trail running shoe spectrum. While it has been quite dry here for this test period, I have been able to test wet traction crossing creeks and from the best I can tell, wet traction is moderate at best (though will update here with more conclusive findings when I can).
