About this deal

Goth does a fantastic job as the seemingly harmless, strange, young woman who is triggered by anything and everything and who embodies the very essence of evil. Whether or not they bloom here in the states or if Capelight is working on a new Mediabook set to complement X, I don’t know.

Disney has released 'Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl' twice on standard-def DVD -- the first a two-disc set that was quite loaded, and then again in a three-disc version with a set of new extras that served mainly as an advert for the sequel, 'Dead Man's Chest. The film look and tone really does live up to the stirrings of our childhood imagination, just like when we first experienced the ride, yet it also finds a perfect balance between that whimsy and a darker, more adult sensibility. Fast forward this Blu-ray to the film's climactic attack sequences and you'll be absolutely thrilled. The truest sign of an excellent audio track is how well the film's quieter moments are handled along with the bombastic action scenes.Horror movies run the gambit with sub-genres ranging from gruesome slasher films to psychological thrillers and supernatural entities to comedic horror. Colors are bold and bright making for a very good-looking movie, though it wasn’t what I was expecting.

This is, of course, a new film, so everything is going to be damn near perfect and this release is no different.

While the story may take place in 1918 pre-dating Hollywood’s golden decade of the 1930s, it pulls from that era’s view of simple Americana living. The confidence paid off, and already Lionsgate is making this fast-favorite available to own on Blu-ray. I understand your scepticism but I can confirm you have contacted the department which would have made the final decision regarding this matter. There is also a 3-minute Blooper Reel, which is pretty amusing, including lots of flubbed lines and stunts-gone-wrong. Considering that the original releases of Curse of the Black Pearl on SD DVD were pretty feature-packed (in both two- and three-disc sets) it was quite nice that the studios bothered to make the Blu-ray release an equally feature-laden 2-disc set.

Press "Enter" to listen to the "Pirate Radio," which seems to be an original Radio ad for the ride at Disneyland (1 min). Unfortunately the result is not even half as entertaining as it sounds, with Depp seeming really stoned and lacking energy, the Director having to cattle-prod him into discussing some admittedly moderately interesting production tales.Lionsgate hits up horror fans with a nice little Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Code edition that gives Pearl lovers plenty to be excited about. It's a lot of tracks for listeners to choose from, and I recommend the latter two over the Depp track, which most fans will be initially tempted to go for. This color scheme may be distractingly beautiful, but it also deftly ties back into key moments within X completing Pearl’s journey from a horrible start to a shocking finish.
