After enrolling in the school, she modeled the characters in her animation projects after her friends. Amaya's Series 1 boots are inspired by a pair of boots featured in Moschino's 2014 Fall/Winter Runway collection. Sunny and Poppy hit off their friendship nearly instantly, with Poppy being the one to cheer her up after learning about her dorm. After they get to know each other, they both become very close friends that often hang out both together and with their fellow roommate. The two are seen together frequently, showcasing their good friendship. In the series, Sunny has an animated series known as "Hi Hi Kawaii". The characters in her show make up the Fantasy Friends line of toys. While not initially together very often, Poppy and Jade are good friends that often hang out together and listen to music. While Poppy and Violet don't interact much, they are close friends and tend to work better as a group, with them having rather different but complimenting personalities.
