It’s a nice attempt at adding value to a productivity monitor if it wasn’t a tad counterproductive. This USB-C hub also uses the monitor’s lone USB-C port as its upstream port, which means that if you have two PC sources, those two sources cannot utilize the same peripherals. It seems like a massive oversight on Dell’s part, especially because productivity often means multi-tasking.

Ultrathin bezel minimizes the bezel gap in multimonitor usage, enabling easier setup with an elegant viewing experience. With a 60Hz refresh rate and 5ms response time, this also isn’t ideal for gaming – although you can get away with some slower-paced ones, especially because open-world games look fabulous in 4K. Common Problem Dell does not make any claims to coverage of DCI-P3—a color space designed for digital video—but we measured it at 90.8%, a good measure for a monitor not geared to that mode. We also measured it as covering 81.2% of Adobe RGB—good for a general-purpose monitor, although photographers working in that space will want to opt for a monitor with more complete coverage—such as the Lenovo ThinkVision P32u-10, which fills 99.7% of Adobe RGB, or a full-fledged professional monitor such as the NEC MultiSync PA311D-BK. The U3223QE is built well enough and offers enough technology that it should serve you well for years. It also comes with an excellent three-year advance exchange warranty that promises to send you a new display first should yours fail. Should I buy it? Gamma was perfect at 2.2, and the white point was just a little cold at 6,700 Kelvin at 100% brightness. Calibrating the U3223QE resulted in almost no change except for color accuracy, which actually fell off to a DeltaE of 0.99. A few permanently bright or dark pixels are considered normal by industry standards. The exact number of pixels that are allowed varies depending on the monitor. That’s pretty much all there is to the Dell P3222QE USB-C Hub. As we said, it’s a great 4K monitor fitted with the right look and the right tools for productivity. However, there’s nothing exceptional about it. Its color coverage is basic. Its selection of ports is only decent. Even the one marque feature it does have, while appealing on paper, isn’t even been well-executed.All things considered, the P3222QE actually puts up a good performance. Its gamut is indeed limited to 99% of the sRGB space, which will leave lovers of wide-gamut panels wanting, but its color space is easy on the eyes and, qualitatively, this is a very good sRGB panel. Gamma performance is perfect out of the box nailed at 2.2 with just an 0.01 deviation, and color accuracy is tested at a Delta-E (difference from real) of 1.67. This is good enough for photo editing work, which the P3222QE is great for at its large size and high resolution. Featuring a large, 31.5-inch IPS panel with a 3840 x 2160 4K resolution, the image produced by the P3222QE is pleasantly sharp on the eyes with great color performance. The panel is capable of 1.07-billion colors, with a rated gamut covering 99% of the sRGB space. As such, this isn’t a wide gamut monitor, nor does it come with factory calibration, so we’ll see how it fares in our testing momentarily. Dell also promises a static contrast ratio of 1000:1 which is what’s expected from an IPS panel, and typical brightness is rated at 350 nits. The display takes things another step with its built-in USB-C hub. There’s a ton of connectivity driven through the USB-C connection, along with more juice than is typical at 90 watts of power delivery and KVM support. It’s an excellent solution for anyone who wants to connect a laptop without futzing with unplugging and plugging a keyboard, mouse, Ethernet, audio, and various peripherals. The Dell P3222QE is great as an all-arounder, but it does have its limitations such as no Adaptive-Sync support and its 65-watt charging. The Dell U3219Q which is more or less the same monitor can be had for less, although it is not as available now since it’s a 2019 model. Overall, it’s a decent buy, but there are more capable monitors out there like Dell’s Collaboration monitors that include a more capable 4K variant. All other products will be delivered via the fastest available method (excluding bank holidays and weekends) and generally within 3-5 days, depending on customer location.

Due to different video formats (aspect ratio) of DVDs and videos, the monitor may display in screen. cm (31.5 in.) viewable area display (measured diagonally). 3840 x 2160(16:9) resolution, with full-screen support for lower resolutions. The Dell P3222QE is an excellent monitor if you want a large 4K screen for extra space along with excellent color quality. Its default output is already good enough for regular use, but calibrating it pushes it into prosumer category. It has plenty of useful features, although we don’t like the fact that you have to spend extra to get a pair of speakers. The Dell P3222QE has plenty of connectivity options, starting with its DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 port for video inputs. You also get four USB 3.2 Gen.1 ports for fast transfers, along with an RJ45 port for network management. However, the obvious highlight here is the USB-C slot which supports DP Alt Mode, allowing USB-C laptop owners to use it as a single cable solution for video inputs and charging.
Good for productivity, but not great
The P3223QE has a lot of features to like: 4K resolution on a big, wide 32-inch display that gives plenty of real estate for your work to expand into. Plugging in a single cable to connect video, USB devices and charge your laptop at the same time is also kind of awesome. No more messing with power cables, video cables and USB cables when you are working from home. Take advantage of the Dell Display Manager software as it does add more functionalities for productivity to the Dell P3222QE USB-C Hub. It gives you access to a lot of things, from basics like choosing screen presets and adjusting brightness and contrast to smarter features like Easy Arrange, which tells the monitor to set snap to grids for a more organized desktop, and Input Manager, which lets you name your ports and set a few hotkeys for on-the-fly input switching. We have to say, though, that Input Manager would have been more appealing if it weren’t for that whole issue with the USB hub being tied to the USB-C port. However, it’s limited to 65 watts, so it might not be able to charge the more powerful workstation laptops while they are in use. 65 watts is enough for notebooks and some light tasks like office work, but those who use heavy apps might not get sufficient charging. Dell should have pushed for 90 watts, but that’s the main feature of their upper-tier models. The Dell P3222QE isn’t compatible with FreeSync and G-Sync, but that’s understandable since it’s a productivity monitor. it will still work great with games, but you need a powerful GPU or a newer console to get a stable framerate. Input lag sits at 10ms at 60Hz, so it won’t feel sluggish or delayed even while you play your favorite titles. Thoughts on the Dell P3222QE Calibrating the Dell P3222QE with a colorimeter lowered its dE average to a fantastic 0.71 which puts it in editing monitor territory. However, colorimeters aren’t always accessible and they are quite expensive for most users. It is only necessary if you are into editing and content creation or if you already have one on hand.
