I read this book during one of the RE session's at UEL and I felt it was a particularly good book to use in class when dealing with the topic of death. To All the Boys I've Loved Before is a very light and simple trilogy. I don't think I really needed to read it - I don't think I would have missed out on anything - but it was fun anyway. And sometimes a lighthearted and gentle read is all you really need. Now in her final year of high school, Lara Jean Song Covey is excitedly looking forward to attending school with her boyfriend, Peter Kavinsky, at the University of Virginia (UVA). Peter has been accepted early on a sports scholarship for lacrosse. When acceptance letters come in, Lara Jean learns she has been rejected. After being wait-listed to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC), Lara Jean decides to go with William and Mary with the plan of transferring to UVA after freshman year. However, Lara Jean is eventually accepted to UNC at Chapel Hill in her last week of school and decides to attend school there.

Ich persönlich konnte mich mit jeder von ihnen auf eine Art und Weise identifizieren. Der Schreibstil der Autorin ist auch sehr flüssig und man wird gut unterhalten.

This is the story of Leah, an enigmatic woman who works to achieve some kind of spiritual awareness in others, rather than the story of the three women around whom most of the story unfolds, and I liked the the way Kelly downplayed her role. Also, was I suppose to care about LJ and Peter's relationship? Was I suppose to root for them to stay together? Because the only salvageable part of this entire book was towards the end and they predictably broke up. When that happened I was pretty much like

Bottom line: I am endlessly impressed with myself for no good reason, and if there is a higher power or justice or love or anything good in this world, Jenny Han will give Kitty the series she deserves. Lara Jean was the perfect eyes to read this series through. I adore Lara Jean. She’s a hopeless romantic, a baking goddess and honestly, a little bit extra. But I really loved that about her. I related to her so much and I really liked how she developed as a character and person throughout this series. She becomes much more mature and confident and outspoken as the series progresses and I really loved watching that change. Her character development was very well written, and I like how we follow her as she accrues knowledge and wisdom from her friends and family and from within herself that she takes into the next book. Her character arc felt continuous, which is great, because I hate when it feels like each books starts the character growth all over again. After delaying my reading for as long as I possibly could when it comes to Jenny's books, I am finally bringing Lara Jean's story to a close. For sure this time lol. And I must say, my heart truly aches. Peter Kavinsky, Lara Jean, the Song/Covey family, and just these books in general are so near and dear to my heart. I never knew how much this trilogy meant to me until now when I know it's finally goodbye. 😢 Although these three women have no connections to one another, they all meet at the spa as they try to regain some semblance of calm in their lives. We find that women can be strong with the support of others who care about them and listen to what is on their minds. Between the talks, we gain some of life's truths which in turn could help us as we journey down life's highway.

Returning home, Lara Jean mentions to her boyfriend, Peter Kavinsky, that the two of them never had a meet-cute, meeting Peter's disbelief because he remembers their first meeting quite well. They don't have a song either, so he starts brainstorming songs. She nervously waits for the result of her Stanford University application so she can attend college with Peter. Trina urges Lara Jean to reconsider and at her father's wedding, Lara Jean spots Peter and decides to approach him. She tells him that she loves him and she wants to continue their relationship, to which he agrees.
