About this deal

is the size of pot commonly used for herbs. Herbaceous perennials are also sometimes sold in this size in early spring. The long edges form the top and bottom rims of the pot. The diagonal cut edges overlap to form a seal – a bit like unfirling a cardboard loo roll tube. You could practice joining the diagonal edges together now. Find the rows along one edge without any holes – this is the top of the pot and forms a hole-less rim to prevent water running off.

Plant Pot Size Guide - Jacksons Nurseries

Comparing plant pot sizes is difficult as they vary in shape by manufacturer. At small sizes plant pots are flat-topped cones, while larger sizes are more structurally stable cylinders. This is why we recommend you calculate a pot’s litreage yourself. Nurseries sell plants at different stages of growth. Most are grown in the ground and then transferred into a pot. Thus a 1 year old tree may be transferred into a 9L pot, a 3 year old tree into a 18L pot. Others are transferred from pot to pot, from a 3L to a 9L for example. At crocus, we have over 30 different sizes of pots that plants and trees are grown in. Here is a simple guide to the different options (and some nice pics of Mike our webmeister). As you can see, the bushiness of the plant increases with the pot size and although the ones in larger pots are more expensive you don't need as many of them to fill the space (so sometimes plants in big pots work out cheaper than a higher quantity of plants in small pots), plus you also have the benefit of a fairly bushy immediate effect Our 2L pots are ideal for the production of amenity plants grown for one year, most commonly used for our 2L herbaceous and shrub lines, this size is great as the plants are small enough to establish but large enough to make an impact when first planted.Use the green screw(s) to hold the pot together. Place a few rows in from the top and bottom of the point, ensureing they hold the bits of plastic that overlap together.
