The Asus BT500 is a Bluetooth 5.0 adapter that uses EDR to reach speeds of up to 3MBps, over twice that of Bluetooth 4.0. The BT500 is capable of pairing with up to seven devices at a time over a maximum range of 40 meters of open space. They do this in two ways. First, they usually support low-latency Bluetooth protocols such as AptX. Secondly, they only handle a single wireless data stream. FastStream is a type of Bluetooth codec, all the Avantree USB adapters mentioned above supports FastStream. When you connect a headphone/headset that supports FastStream to the adapter, you'll be able to get 16-bit Stereo Quality voice chats - much better than the Mono quality you've been getting through your own headphones. Allows me to connect my noise cancelling earbuds to my PS5 so I don't need to run downstairs and grab my headset all the time, which I primarily use for work and PC gaming. I don't care for the little mic plugin but,y buds say it sounds bad so I don't use it. A converter cable is included in case you want to use USB-A instead, so this is a future-proof option even if you’re mainly using USB-A now. As a bonus, the C81 also works with the Nintendo Switch, which has a single USB-C port on the bottom. So if you’re a PS5 and Nintendo Switch player, the C81 kills two birds with one stone.This adapter is for AUDIO ONLY so you can only connect Headphones or Speakers or Audio Receivers to it for Audio Transmission. Where this "shines" is that it's purely audio focused so it tends to have more functionality in that dept for headphones/headsets. So I can use my Bose700 headphones AND mic at the same time. Windows by default won't allow this(which is really f'n dumb imho). But this adapter allows the use of both but at a lower sound quality(sounds pretty bad but better than nothing). If you're not trying to use the mic on a BT headset then the audio sounds just as good as any other SBC headphone. The point is: have wireless headphones that don't have a built-in mic(aka non-headsets) and have a dedicated mic if you use calls a lot(or discord). The pairing / connection via Bluetooth is between the C81 and your Bluetooth headphones / speaker, not the PC.
