Close the lid and leave at room temperature for 2 hours, stirring every 30 minutes until there is no more sugar showing at the bottom of the jar. I recently tried this recipe with the cucumbers I harvested from the garden and we all love them. I do the spears with my dehydrated cayenne peppers and the round slices without the extra spice. I’m so glad I came across your recipes. I’ll be trying this with other vegetables..Hi! I modified due to what I had available went a little heavier on the ingredients and used white wine vinegar as well as regular white vinegar, I also used jalapeños for added spice and they came out fantastic! Absolutely love them! This recipe is exactly what we've been looking for. We have tried a few and this has produced the best results.

In a small pan bring the water, vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper to a boil. Turn off the heat, then carefully pour the hot liquid into the jar over the cucumbers. Be sure the liquid fully submerges the cucumbers and everything.Thank you so much for your interest in this recipe as well as this fantastic rating! I haven’t personally experienced this issue, but I think that using less sugar should work better, I would recommend about 1.5 cups instead of 2. If that doesn’t work you can also try blending your sugar, in either a Cuisinart or a blender, to try to break it up into even smaller granules. Let me know how your second batch turns out, I hope you enjoy!
