About this deal

So, they replaced the grinder, and all was well. It wasn't until a few years later when I knew so much more about espresso in general and had so much more experience with the Smart Grinder Pro, that I figured out what the issue was. It was just the coffee beans! Re footprint, they’re similar but not quite the same. The dose control pro is approx 3.8cm / 1.5″ wider, the smart grinder pro is approx 6.4cm / 2.5″ deeper, and the smart grinder pro is approx 4.5cm / 1.8″ taller. At Neighbourhood Coffee, we know how important making the best brew at home is. Whether that’s a pour over, fresh espresso or refreshing cold brew. We’re here to break down Sage’s multifunctional grinder so you’ll know exactly what you’re getting and how to use it. Every setting you’ll need, from espresso to percolator to drip and then coarser for a plunger. The sixty available settings offer a wide range to allow you to grind fine enough for espresso or coarse enough for french press. If you're searching for the best coffee grinder for espresso in the UK , you'll need to consider a few essential aspects.

As the name hints, an assortment of coffee beans are ground and put into small cups from which tasters spoon out and drink the brew.

Hi Trudy, thanks for your comment and apologies for the delayed response. How odd! ;-), no, I’ve never seen this. Have you been onto Sage support?

I'd previously made the assumption (as this has happened to me many times with integrated grinder machines) that it was an issue to do with the humidity in the hopper changing in integrated grinder machines like the Barista Express or the Oracle when the machine is turned on, but I found that the changes in humidity in my studio, which is a fairly normal environment, changed by as much as about 12% during a period of about an hour, both outside the hopper, and inside the hopper. However, burr grinders produce a more consistent grind that improves the coffee's flavour. Blade grinders can't be set as finely as burr grinders, but they can make enough ground coffee for an average-sized pot. The Capresso 565 has a mechanical timer which you can adjust between 5 and 60 seconds, so you don't have to keep your eyes on the beans when grinding. There is also the option of using the Pulse grinding feature, which lets you pulse the grinder to get your desired grind. At the moment I use pre-ground coffee from a local roasting company, of course in 3 different courses. But I want to start grinding beans myself and being able to tweak it for improved brew time and taste. The AeroPress was invented by Alan Adler as a more compact, portable and convenient coffee maker. Since its release in 2005, the AeroPress has gained immense popularity, and has become a staple product for coffee lovers. Different brewing methods, like the inverted brewing technique has allowed for coarser grinds. New accessories, like metal filters, funnels, special cups, and even attachable pour over cones have been designed by independent enthusiasts. Manual grinders are pretty basic. They have a small burr set to adjust the grind with your fingers. If the Victoria Arduino mythos grinder sounds like something you're up for, you can get one of these higher-end coffee grinders directly from their official online store. It's just ridiculously user-friendly, and that's the main thing I have to say about most Sage machines, really, they seem to think of just about everything to make them as idiot-proof as possible, although to be fair even Sage couldn't do quite a good enough job of that with this idiot, as I couldn't figure out to start with how to get the Gaggia classic portafilter to rest in the portafilter cradle. Some grinders are specialists, there are some grinders that are made specifically for manual brew methods, and many that are made specifically for espresso, but this is an all-rounder. For me, the Smart Grinder Pro is the best all-rounder grinder for the money, overall, especially if you also want to be able to grind for espresso, with standard baskets.
