About this deal

The cable looks good and represents a good value with the universal connectors but delivers a granular representation in the highs. I am using a DUNU silver plated cable instead with much better acoustic results. Cables - Some In-ear monitors will come with removable or detachable cables that let you upgrade, or change them in case of any accidents. Some IEMs come with a fixed cable, which is not removable by design.

AMPLIFICATION REQUIREMENTS AND SOURCE PAIRING:The Raptgo Hook-X is surprisingly easy to drive even without the use of balanced source devices. I did not notice hiss with any of my devices. All in all, I enjoy the Hook X HBB both tonally and technically, it's more energic and more balanced in its muscular dynamic. The bass hit harder and add more fun to an engaging mature enough sound signature. Winter is cleaner, crisper, and leaner sounding and will please those seeking near analytical neutrality. At one minute 20 seconds we are now shown a high pitched (treble) shaker! As a new sonic addition we are presented with a subtle brilliance. And I can’t help but find the separation here unique. The fact that it comes in sounding almost like it was there all along. But of course these guys know exactly what they are doing. This small rhythm was a planned add, that would be used to show a style of climax in the piece. And the fact that the HOOK-X was guilty of portraying it perfect. Just perfect! Still part of the faceplate is the spearmint chamfered ‘fenders’ of the Hook-X giving it more of a distinctive personality. EST50 has an edge in treble, vocals, soundstage width and height. Hook-X owns the imaging.

And while I can’t confirm the complete tuning variations between the different colored tips, I found the white and green ones closer to one another. The white has the same pleasing mids but with a slight boost in the treble area, while the green is slightly more relaxed in the bass and lower treble.

Sound & Specs

The size is a bit chunky but not too big, part of the shell that enters your ears has an organic shape and isn’t thought for deep insertion unless you use super long triple-flanged ear tips (but why?). These aren’t too heavy and I find them super comfortable for long-time listening. Vya Domus Does 7900XT still has high idle consumption on multiple monitors? And should I wait for the Supers even when I'm leaning towards AMD cards? ( 5) Detail is undoubtedly the best quality of midrange, which is really full of small details that pop out of the mix with enviable clarity. Music really does feel alive because of this! In terms of tuning, the mids have a bit of an additional accent on the upper region which makes it quite bright, but not fatiguing. It does colour the sound quite a bit though, and even low male voices sound less full-bodied because of this; female voices, on the other hand, sound more emphatic and lively. In general, mids are quite well positioned in the mix, though they are a bit overshadowed by treble. I would describe the outer shell of the Hook-X as a classy design. The shape of its housing isn’t really anything new, but that golden lining that surrounds its faceplate grille makes this a super stylish IEM. Its CNC aluminum makeup also helps with the earphone’s level of value and durability. As for comfort, the Hook-X is light, and always felt secure while sitting in my concha. For me, it seemed a perfect size and the wide selection of ear tips should definitely help achieve the best fit possible. Design In terms of documentation, the Zero includes an owner’s manual and a warranty booklet, which are both written in English and Chinese.

I think it's evident that the Dunu Talos is a joke compared to the Hook X HBB. No more comments apart that planar mode is good and offers a smoother leaner and more neutral tonality than HBB, with inferior technicalities and less dynamic and engaging musicality. Compared with the original Hook-x (i own both) the upper bass boost probably generated through the bone conductor is much recessed in the HBB tuning. I love the HBB tuning in the higher regions. Cymbals sounds crisp like in a live session. This is my first IEM with such a good representation. As the original version this IEM is engaging and fun to listen. I think the price is very competitive and can compete without problems with my high priced IEMS such as Sennheiser IE600 or Campfire Solaris. The IE600 has a similar tuning to the HBB Hook X. Want more like this.. perhaps it is the vented nature of the chassis which reduces listening fatigueNote weight in the treble area has body to it. At least that’s what I hear. Cymbals crash and not splash. Granted cymbals also play a lot in the upper mids but the decaying crash is not tizzy, but more focused. Instruments in my library never sound harsh or peaky. The extension of the Highs rolls off on a pretty nice downward slope to capture most information well. Percussion and even strings residing in the upper areas sound as they should with enough vibrancy for me. As Linsoul’s catalogue of Raptgo products show, the brand previously released two balanced armature IEMs, as well as a set of TWS earphones. The Hook-X is not only the brand’s first planar IEM, it’s also the first of its kind to make use of a piezoelectric driver. So I have had this for roughly two months now, and can honestly say I am past the honeymoon period and my verdict has landed: These are spectacular. As a whole I’m not mad at the treble area of the Hook. Maybe it isn’t as detailed as some iems but it is musical and engaging. The treble fits the replay just fine. Treble Heads may be left wanting, but for those who want a non-pain, non-fatigue and zero shrill treble performance… my friends the Hook-X. The case provided by Raptgo for the Hook-X is elongated shaped and is decently sized to carry accessories with it. Proudly representing its beginnings, it’s marked by the brand insignia with 2019 for its year of establishment. Sound Impressions
