The story is essentially a series of battle with a thin plot tying it all together. It often feels empty.

The plot, so far, seems like it's gonna be fine but the intense chemistry of all the characters makes it impossible to look away. I would read the manga even if it didn't have any cool fights if only to see them all again. I am planning to read the mangas before watching the anime. So here I am, done with the first volume and enjoying it! After reading Jujutsu Kaisen vol 1 I understand more why other battle manga titles are disappointing to some readers. While the story isn’t breaking new ground the setup gives us a great idea of how our jujutsu members will work together.
