Infacol has a progressive effect, which means that it should be given to baby for several days to achieve the best results. If baby’s colic hasn’t improved after three to four days you can increase the dosage to two droppers full (1ml). Symptoms not associated with colic include diarrhoea, vomiting or a raised temperature (over 38° C / 100° F). lf your baby suffers from any of these or if you are uncertain whether your baby is suffering from colic you should consult your health visitor, midwife or family doctor. What is the cause of infant colic? One dropper full (0.5ml) of Infacol should be given before each feed. This may be increased to two droppers full (1ml), if needed. How often can I use Infacol? This is a Schedule 8 medication and can only be supplied if the prescription meets all relevant Australian health regulations. Simeticone INFACOL is inert and not absorbed into the body. INFACOL is not known to cause any unwanted effects. Methyl and propyl hydroxybenzoates may cause allergic reactions (possible delayed). If you think your baby may be allergic to any of the ingredients, ask your doctor or health visitor before giving INFACOL.
