Asda is today launching a new range to give 15 emerging brands their first ‘big four’ supermarket listing, as part of its ongoing commitment to innovation. The liquid itself was developed by Master Distiller Jamie Baggot, who has multiple awards to his name, including winning Double Gold Best-in-the-World Vodka at the San Francisco Wine & Spirits Competition in 2010.

Dutch Barn was developed by Master Distiller Jamie Baggot, who has multiple awards to his name, including winning Best-in-the-World Vodka at the San Francisco Wine & Spirits Competition in 2010. The brand-new spirit is certified carbon neutral from day one, and builds on consumer demand for sustainable and ethical brands The distillery wanted high recycled content in its bottles to cut down on the use of raw materials, and amber glass is known to offer protection to the contents. Beatson Clark’s amber glass is made of over 60% recycled materials.

Dutch Barn Orchard Vodka is made using British apple juice balanced with a touch of potato spirit. The brand takes its name from the Dutch barn which houses the distillery. Working on creating Dutch Barn over the last two years has been very exciting and I’m delighted that everyone can now enjoy this incredible vodka that we have created. Vodka Bespoke Amber Glass Bottle is Sustainable for New Vodka

Personally, I know first-hand what a fantastic club YCFC is, with both my sons going through the Academy at York and being a part of the Club’s loyal fan base. Being a local brand with big ambitions, Dutch Barn Orchard Vodka and York City FC are perfectly aligned to perform together on such a locally important sporting stage”. The apples, one of the UK’s most sustainable crops, used to produce the vodka are 100% British. They have been sourced from an expert apple processor who sources locally to help minimise the carbon footprint as well as supporting British apple farmers. The distillery has been built on Ellers Farm, near Buttercrambe, with water sourced from the ground beneath it.

Beatson Clark came up in a search and they’re a great business to work with – a Yorkshire business too! We knew they could provide a bottle with high recycled content, and the fact it’s in amber glass means that the flavour of the vodka is as close as possible to the flavour the moment it comes out of the still. But let’s remember that we’re building a distillery and intend to have a little bit of fun along the way! A brand new sustainable British vodka has been launched in a bespoke embossed amber glass bottle designed and manufactured by Beatson Clark. The products will launch as part of Asda’s Nurture programme, which gives dedicated shelf space and support to emerging suppliers
