About this deal

Swimyourswim run open water swimming sessions at Thrybergh Country Park, Rotherham at the following times: Thrybergh Country Park is a reservoir and nature reserve in South Yorkshire. It is located between Thrybergh and Hooton Roberts on the outskirts of Rotherham and opened in 1983. [1] History [ edit ] Thrybergh has one public house, The Lord Reresby. As well as this, other places include the Thrybergh Sports Centre now closed The Fosters Garden Centre and Fosters Petrol Station Now closed A brand-new development of 2 and 3-bedroom homes in the village of Thrybergh on the outskirts of Rotherham available to buy via shared ownership. We had a walk round the lake today on a beautiful sunny but cold day. It’s a good 45 minute walk but nice and flat.

Heavy rain associated with Storm Ciarán could bring some disruption to northeast England and southeast Scotland. All swimmers MUST wear a bright swim cap so our safety team can easily sport you – ORANGE, BRIGHT GREEN, or YELLOW. (White caps are not good as they often look like waves on the lake!) Come and tour the fantastic shared ownership properties at Whinney Hill. Our experienced sales agents will be on hand to talk you through the benefits of shared ownership, and take you on a development and property tour. We do NOT recommend using sports/kayaking/wind-surf wetsuits as these are NOT designed for swimming. SYS uses swimming wetsuits – specifically designed for swimming. Swimmers wearing sports wetsuits will be restricted to the short course. As elected bodies parish councils are responsible to the people they represent – that’s your local community. Attending a council meeting is the best way to find out what we do.

I know we can’t help the weather but if it’s open all year round it needs to be a pleasant walk for people. Historic England. "Church of St Leonard, Thrybergh (1132783)". National Heritage List for England . Retrieved 5 April 2011. At Thrybergh, we always strive to get things right 100% of the time, but we understand that there may be occasions when we don’t get things quite right for everyone. To the north west of the village is Thrybergh Park, in which is situated a grade II listed country house, built around 1820 by John Webb. The house is built of ashlar sandstone, with a roof of Welsh slate. The main section has two storeys and is of square appearance, with five bays on all sides, build in Tudor revival style with some Gothic Revival detailing. There is a low three-storey tower, and the house was commissioned by Colonel Fullerton. The building is now used as the club house for Rotherham Golf Club, [8] which was formed in 1903.

If you would rather spend the day trying new activities, then you can head down to Rotherham and enjoy many activity centres including a roller-skating rink and inflatable obstacle courses. From here you could head to Parkgate Shopping Centre and enjoy a spot of shopping or enjoy a meal at one of the many restaurants in the area. Your parish council is made up of a number of councillors who meet regularly to make decisions on the work and direction of the council. These meetings provide time for local residents to raise matters of concern or ask questions relating to local issues.

We allow swimmers to swim in wetsuits and ‘skins’ (i.e. just your swimming costume) but you must be able to demonstrate your swim competence and experience. All swimmers will be asked to swim a test route before being allowed onto the longer course. We decided that a nice coffee was needed after a walk around the park the paths could do with a little maintenance. A crowd of almost 90 mums, dads and children came along to the party to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III with wonderful entertainment from Sheffield's Barney Baloney who amazed everyone with his silly jokes, magic and ventriloquism which included a rather cheeky monkey! Thrybergh has many schools, including Thrybergh Academy, Thrybergh Primary, Foljambe Primary, St Gerards Catholic Primary, and Thrybergh Fullerton Primary.

To improve the facilities at Thrybergh Country Park the existing café will be replaced with a larger café, retail and visitor centre which will include an external terrace to provide outdoor seating with views across the reservoir. We were very disappointed at the condition of the path in parts. It was unbelievably muddy in parts. It wouldn’t cost much to put some lime chipping down to make this a more pleasant walk and a safer one as it was very slippy in parts. The earliest record of coal mining in Thrybergh relates to 1630 by that time at least two pits were working.Coal mining did not became a major industry until the mid-nineteenth century. In about 1890 the Dalton Main Colliery Company established a new pit at Silverwood.By 1947 a million tons of coal a year were being produced. From 29 October, there will be changes to our evening and Sunday services, as some will be running on a different frequency.
