About this deal

Thanks to the reduced power consumption of the X-Processor 5, the battery life for still images has been significantly increased from approximately 600 to 740 frames* compared to the X-T4. The X-T5 may not match the X-H2’s 8K recording, but there’s more than enough on offer here for photographers who’d like to be able to shoot high quality video occasionally. The quality of its footage is very good, aided again by those lovely Fujifilm colours. Fujifilm’s IBIS provides a good degree of stabilisation, allowing you to shoot hand-held and pan smoothly across a scene without the footage becoming unwatchable. If the X-T5 still isn’t up to your needs, there’s always the X-H2 and X-H2S. High-res multi-shot mode

Fujifilm XT4 and XT5 vs. X Pro 3: Which is Best? Fujifilm XT4 and XT5 vs. X Pro 3: Which is Best?

Most photographers choose Fujifilm because of their color profiles — myself included. The colors are still intact here. My running favorite is still Astia because of the way it renders skin tones and creates a soft look without the awful overexposed tendency of a “light and airy” edit. The colors worked universally well moving from portraits to a colorful dance floor.

So while the burst speed on the X-T5 is the same as the X-H2, the actual burst depth becomes another differentiator. If you’re happy to shoot JPEG-only bursts, I don’t think you’ll find it an issue in practice, but RAW shooters will need to think about whether 20 frames at a time with pauses afterwards as they fully-flush will be sufficient. If that’s not enough for you the XT5 also features Pixel Shift Multi-Shot, which uses the camera’s in-body image stabilization (IBIS) mechanism to shift the image sensor with precision, to In my tests I occasionally found banding on some panoramas with constant flat colours like a clear blue sky, but this can sometimes be alleviated by manually fixing the aperture, shutter and ISO values,

Both cameras support up to DCI 4K/60p recording but the X-T4 does so with a 1.17x crop factor, whereas the X-T5 doesn't apply any crop to its 4K/60p footage. Like most cameras, though, you have to pre-select which subject type you’re interested in via the Q menu. So if you have animal mode selected and then point the camera at a bird, the subject detection system will ignore it. You can set a function button to turn subject detection on or off, but not to choose between the various options, which feels like a missed opportunity. The Xiaomi 12T Pro offers a whopping 200MP main camera, but how does this perform, and do the other cameras deliver? Joshua Waller puts it through its paces.
