About this deal

For systems with single skin flue only, leave at least 100cm between the top of the stove and the flashing kit to ensure the life span of the flashing kit. Don't worry about heat distribution if it's not placed in the middle of the tent: both our stoves give out enough heat to keep even a large tipi cosy on a cold night. It wraps around the bottom flue section and sits on top of our portable wood burning stove. Once the water has boiled the water heater can be turned around to hang from the bottom flue. If you're fitting a Frontier Stove, the kit needed is exactly the same, although you'll go for the Frontier Tipi Sleeve and an extra section of Frontier Stove flue instead. A carbon monoxide alarm is always an essential piece of kit if using any stove in a tent or enclosed space. The silicone collar is suitable for temperatures of up to 300 degrees, however it is still best to have this as high up in the shelter as possible, making it as far away from the stove as possible. A minimum distance of 800mm is required. Frontier Stove versus Frontier Plus

Within this period the manufacturer will correct any defects by repairing or replacing defective parts of the equipment or making available the parts thereof. The Frontier stove is both long-lasting and durable. However, at high temperatures most of our stoves – even those made from stainless steel – show discolouration and light rust when used outside where there is exposure to damp. The Frontier Plus will show signs of rusting after use, but this will not affect its performance or durability. The cooking surface is particularly susceptible to this where pots and kettles scratch the paint finish. You can touch up the stove if necessary. This Blog explains more about looking after your stove in the British climate. Safety and disclaimer Perfect for installation on a patio, outside a tent, or as a semi-permanent stove in your bell-tent, yurt or cabin. What’s in the Frontier Plus box? We've had a few questions recently about what is needed to fit a Frontier Stove or Frontier Plus in a tipi, so we thought we'd put together a tipi guide covering everything you'll need if you'd like to use your stove in a tipi tent. If you'd like to get rid of the guesswork, have a look at our Frontier Plus Tipi Bundle; if you've already got your stove, or you're still considering what kind of tent or stove to buy, you might need some pointers on what you'll need and how to set it all up. So, without further ado, here is the ultimate guide to fitting, using and cooking with a Frontier Stove or Frontier Plus in a tipi tent. Highly recommended product and great all-round, the Frontier Stove is a great wood burner for space-heating and camp cooking.

While heating, shake up the ingredients of the flour mixture container and the milk mixture container separately. Next, pour the milk contents jar into the flour contents jar and shake again until just mixed. It is okay if there are some lumps in the batter. Finally, shake the egg white container until just foamy, about 2 minutes. Add the egg whites to the batter, seal the top, and gently rotate the jar to gently incorporate the egg whites without breaking down all the air between the egg white proteins. Combine the flour, salt, sugar, baking soda, and baking powder in a 24-ounce jam jar or container with a tight-fitting lid. The Frontier Stove is designed to just burn wood - we recommend using our eco fuel (compressed sawdust). Burning coal in the Frontier Stove can cause it to warp. Using unseasoned or chemically-treated timber can cause buildup in the flue resulting in problems with smoke. A great type of fuel is compressed wood logs (make sure they are good quality, made from untreated wood offcuts). This type of fuel is very cheap, easy to get hold of and burns very cleanly.

You can fit a stove in any tipi, whether it's a traditional tipi with poles and stretched canvas, a hybrid (like the ones used by The Tipi Company: traditional-looking, but with a crown holding the poles together that has space for a flue to exit through) or a modern portable tipi with a pre-fitted flue port. The third option is the most common: they're affordable, easy to put up and take down, and fairly lightweight. Traditional tipis are very large and difficult to transport, so are usually only assembled for longer events or to live in, whereas the newer portable options can be used as a normal tent when camping. The Tentipi Safir tent is another popular option: it comes in a range of different sizes, from the Safir 5 (2.3m high) to the Safir 15 (3.6m high, with a diameter of 6 metres). Any system fitted with insulated flue will be a minimum of 650mm from the top of the stove to the flashing kit. Return the skillet to the grate on top of the fire. Once the pan is hot add the vegetable oil to the skillet, swirl it around, and pour about half a cup of batter into the skillet. Cook until you notice bubbles appear on the top, about 3 minutes, and then flip and cook for about 2-3 minutes more, or until the pancakes are browned on the bottom. The heat output of any fire comes down to two essential components: fuel and air. The Frontier Stove is designed to be used with wood only, and preferably good wood that is completely dry. The temperature and speed that firewood burns at varies by the type of tree it came from and how dry or ‘aged’ the wood is. Generally speaking hardwood burns longer, and slower, soft pine and conifers burn hot and fast. Wood that is new, live, or wet does not burn very well and will generate a lot of smoke. If you’ve got bad wood you’ll need a bigger fire with a lot of oxygen to achieve a more complete combustion. The Frontier has a long flue, to transport the fumes and smoke away from the cooking area. The flue sections come apart and store inside the body of the stove, and the legs fold down for easy carrying. Firebox: 47cm x 28cm x 23cm (length x width x depth/height), Footprint (legs extended)*: 83cm x 45cm, Footprint (legs shortened)*: 71.5cm x 35.5cm, Height (legs extended): 2.78m, Height (legs shortened): 2. 7m, Height of top plate from floor (legs extended): 48cm, Height of top plate from floor (legs shortened): 40cm

The Frontier Plus does everything its little brother the Frontier Stove does, with the following additional great features: Camp food is a thing of joy, cooking over a fire after a day spent in the great outdoors makes everything taste amazing. The Shepherd Stove is one of the tiniest and most effective woodburners available. They have been designed with Shepherd's huts in mind, and suit very small spaces. If you're interested in the Frontier Plus, go for the Frontier Plus Tipi Bundle. If you've already got your stove and you'd like to put together everything you'll need yourself, here's what's included:The Frontier is equipped with a plate on the cooking surface which can be removed for maximum heat exposure and cooking directly over an open flame. In yet another 16-ounce jar or container, combine the milk and egg yolks (you'll add the butter to this jar later, once you've melted it over the campfire). Store all three jars in a cooler until ready to cook. The Shed Flashing Kit works from angles between 0 degrees to 20 degrees and the 45˚ Flashing has been designed so you can fit your stove in sheds, chalets and similar structures that have a steeper angled roof.
