About this deal

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using Exorex Lotion.

About Exorex Creams, Lotion & Treatments for Psoriasis Give your skin the right treatment with Exorex from Chemist DirectDermal clarified that the higher strengths of Dithrocream (0.25%, 0.5% and 1%) had already been discontinued, but the 0.1% strength would remain available until Autumn 2022. My doctor suggested trying Exorex, more of as a break from Dovobet which i had been using for a long time.

My own feeling is that Exorex would not harm your face,, but of course I am not a doctor or a dermatologist. BUT be vigilant for any feeling of irritation, as with any topical treatment applied to sensitive skin. Unfortunately, treatments and over-the-counter products occasionally become unavailable for a variety of reasons. Just been prescribed Exorex for a severe outbreak of psoriasis - really hoping Exorex works but cannot tell if it’s making it better or worse so far. The higher strengths of Dithrocream 0.25%, 0.5% and 1%, were discontinued in May 2021. The lowest strength, Dithrocream 0.1%, has now also been discontinued.Ensure that the lesions are clean. Apply a thin layer of Exorex two to three times per day to the affected areas. Massage gently and leave to dry.

I have been using Exorex for about a month now, twice a day. I have tried just about everything topical over the years, except biologics, and none of it worked. In July 2019 we learned that Thornton and Ross Ltd had announced the withdrawal of Aquamol Emollient Cream from manufacture due to poor demand for the product. Exorex Lotion 1%contains 1% prepared coal tar in the bast of esterified fatty acids. The ingredients used allows you to notice an improvement to your skin within a few weeks, however it may also take longer for the improvement to occur. This product is the most important product within the Exorex Management System as it is indicated for the treatment of psoriasis whilst others are complementary products designed to assist in the management of psoriasis. We are the leading national charity and membership organisation for people affected by psoriasis in the UK.

Follow the instructions about when and how to use the product. If you have any further questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist. I have just looked up the Patient leaflet online ( https://www.medicines.org.uk/emc/files/pil.9022.pdf ) . Coal tar makes the skin more sensitive to sunlight. Exposure to direct sunlight (such as sunbathing) should therefore be avoided after application of the lotion. There may be a very small increase in the risk of skin cancer in patients with psoriasis who are treated with coal tar products, but this is not proven. Be careful when applying the lotion around the eyes and other sensitive areas of the body such as the mouth. If any lotion accidentally enters the eyes, rinse with water immediately. "

They told the Psoriasis Association 'the minimum volumes that we have to produce on a production run are far higher than demand and as such it wasn't viable to continue producing the product'. LEO apologised for any inconvenience caused by this product discontinuation, and recommended that anybody affected visits their healthcare professional to discuss their individual needs and preferences for the management of their psoriasis. The Deximune® brand of ciclosporin 25mg, 50mg and 100mg capsules remain available and can support an increase in demand, and alternative brands of ciclosporin capsules (Neoral®, Vanquoral®, Capsorin®, and Sandimmun®) also remain available, however these brands have limited or no availability to support an increase in demand. If any of the side effects gets serious, or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist as soon as possible. Dermal Laboratories regret to announce that due to supply chain and other external issues, it has not been possible to manufacture further supplies of Psoriderm Bath, which has regrettably led to the decision to discontinue the product. One ingredient of Calmurid (DEA (diethanolamine) and Cocamide DEA) has triggered a safety concern via the regulatory authorities. As safety is our primary priority, Calmurid will not be further produced. Our Medical Information Service can help with enquiries about this product, for example its appearance, whether you have questions about what it contains, the ingredients in it, or how it works. Hydrogenated polyoxyl castor oil may cause skin reactions. Methyl and propyl hydroxybenzoates may cause allergic reactions that might be delayed."
