About this deal

I get that no one could’ve known how everything would unfold but there’s a reason for everyone warning parks to stay away from him, which she clearly dismissed and that’s on her. She was too stubborn and to her detriment. This book has been painfully bad to read. Jessa Hastings clearly forgot the plot right until the very last chapters and decided to fill the remaining space with unnecessary shit.

I did really enjoy Daisy and Christian’s scenes, well.. some of them. Some of it was just so thrown together while it was clear Magnolia was the focus. The big love confession was filled with footnotes of what Magnolia was thinking.. like who gives a single f….about that? I did love the end scene at the hospital and it was the only scene that really felt like a progression from their first book and where I thought we’d be. I like what’s going on with his family. I liked the sex tape storyline but probably just because it was time on them and not other dead in the water stories. There wasn't much of a plot to be honest, if you read MP2 you already know everything that happens in this book. I know that some love is beautiful, and some is freeing, some unravels you, some love poisons you, some blinds you, some betters you, and some loves break you in invisible ways that no one else knows about until you have to stand up and the weight of your love crushes your bones.” honestly: how did that mf even fall in love with her when all they did was spend hours naked on his desk??? does he even know her name or does he call her Tiges because he genuinely can't remember?) A girl who was brought up in the world of crime, yearning to be normal. Daisy is SO badass.’ (FIVE STARS)

I hope Julian's feelings for Magnolia are like the feelings Christian had for Magnolia and he finds the true love of his life, he deserves to be happy. As their romance blossoms into something neither were anticipating, Daisy, Christian, and Julian must come to terms with the fact that in this life everything comes at a price. As their relationships intersect and tangle, they all learn that sometimes life's most worthwhile pursuits can only be paid in blood. I also don't get how Julian fell sooo in love with Magnolia, like this 31 years old guy didn't love a girl in all his life but fell for a girl he kind of date for 3 months who keep telling him that she is in love with BJ (as she should) and that she thinks of BJ while she is having sex with him (as she should). Julian you deserve better.

considering that my rating on daisy haites 1 was 5/5, one would think i went mad rating this new book THIS low and all i have to say for myself is that 1 star is for Daisy and Christian (not even their scenes could save this book i am sobbing) and one is for Jonah (love of my life i love you).

Raised by her older brother Julian since their parents were murdered, Daisy has never been able to escape the watchful gaze of her gang-lord brother. But Julian’s line of work means that Daisy’s life is… complicated. although daisy was a btec magnolia in her last book, i actually enjoyed her quite a lot here. and christian makes her so much more likable as well. thats bae <3. wouldn’t say i fell in love with her like i hoped i would, but i did warm to her and that’s a start. shes much better written in this book (less mental instability). and her povs are also so much better when you don’t open those despicable footnotes.

the character development, the different relationship + friendship dynamics, the angst, magnolia + julian??? im out here rooting for them, the sheer love the haites siblings have for eachother, THE LOVE DAISY AND CHRISTIAN HAVE FOR EACHOTHER Julian: He seemed so pathetic in this book falling for someone who was still in love with her ex. And the way he doesn't tell Magnolia that there are people from the mafia threatening her life is not okay. You will fall in love with Daisy Haites a million times over and be desperate for more of her story when it ends.' (FIVE STARS) Daisy and Tiller (EYEROLL). Another couple that made no sense! YAY. If you haven’t read this book PLEASE GO and witness the way their conversations can bore a person to death! That was so fun actually, I imagined their whole dynamic at the dinner table being like a shopping list of the things going on at work/university, followed by sex and then they pushed the repeat button for a whole ass year. And we had to listen to the ramble of this for half of the book before Christian Hemmes - our dear lord and savior amen - came to the rescue. i said this before and i'm going to repeat it again: too tragic. this relationship was too much. why? because julian is getting a love interest and that girl could give him the moon and it still wouldn't mean anything because the author decided that he had to fall hopelessly inI’m having a hard time deciding what to do with this. I get that the universe bears her name and so she’s just the main character (and then I guess that means I just hate her and probably these books aren’t for me) but also, I think the author is really doing readers dirty. She mentioned once that Magnolia is based off of a younger version of herself and once I read that it all made more sense and I can’t get out of my head how narcissistic and vain this writing is. This book didn’t give us anything new from MP2, and the plot was pretty much nonexistent. The first 80% was extremely drawn out, with all the action in the last 20%. The mafia bits felt thrown in and strung together to provide a reason for the hit, but it could have been executed better. i saw someone else say that it feels like jessa doesn’t actually like or care about daisy/her storyline and yeah, i would agree. girl can’t even be a main character in her own damn book. at this point i’m pretty sure jessa isn’t capable of writing a story that doesn’t revolve around magnolia. she also doesn’t know how to write character depth, or how to explain why characters love magnolia. people just do in this universe, thems the rules, no explanation—and i hate it. Everything gets more complicated when beautiful, broken-hearted socialite Magnolia Parks enters the scene and Julian finds himself entangled with her. Because for Julian, falling in love isn’t just unwelcome – it could be deadly for everyone involved . . . This book was supposed to be about Christian and Daisy’s relationship, and the aspects of it we’re shown in the book I liked, but I felt their time together was overshadowed by Julian and Magnolia. After finishing, I was left feeling like Christian and Daisy were afterthoughts or side characters, which makes no sense in a book carrying Daisy’s name.
