Once the skin has been highlighted with Blue Horror, the end result is a very pale-looking Tzaangor. A glaze of Guilliman Blue was applied to the model’s extremities to enhance the colour and give the impression that its skin is shifting colour. The more Guilliman Blue you apply, the deeper the skin tone you’ll achieve. On this model we’ve concentrated the additional glazes on the lower legs, for a gradient of colour. The Leader slot is getting pretty crowded and the Enlightener’s direct competitor is the Loreseeker who can drop right in front of the enemy and cast Lambent Light right in their face. It’s not a bad hero, but faces a lot of competition. Vanari Auralan Sentinels Guided by the Future requires a Triple because it does not have any range limitations and up to 8/11 damage on a 20” range is indeed quite powerful.Solid shooting –One of the better “shooty” armies. The Tzaangor Shaman was a staple in my lists since the Tome first came out and I was a little discouraged when he received a new Warscroll with Tzeentch and lost many of his buffs to the other Tzaan units. He really doesn’t change much from the 2.0 Battletome except he loses his buffs and the Sorcerous Elixir becomes more dependable. Boon of Mutation is still very similar. He’s actually cheaper than the current version, which is nice – he could be a more tanky spellcaster that you want (he has a 4+ save now). Using a lighter copper paint, such as Runelord Brass, add highlights to the metallic components. Focus on edges, corners, and any areas where light would naturally catch. This will enhance the metallic shine and add realism to the model.

Tzaangor Enlightened

Fatemaster –Friend to both Daemons and Mortals, the Fatemaster’s command ability is incredibly valuable. Reroll all hits in a 9″ aura? Don’t lave home without him. Fatemaster, Ogroid Thamaturge and the Gaunt Summoners are also good options, while if you want a veritable tank, your best option is a Curseling. Next comes the Armor Plating. I painted the armor plates with Sotek Green, then washed it with Drakenhof Nightshade. At this step I also painted the metal bits with Leadbelcher. I’ll wash the weapons with Nuln Oil and the scale mail tabard I wanted to be brighter and look more like part of the armor, so I washed it with a Guilliman Blue gloss. They don’t make this anymore, but you can likely replicate the effect by mixing Macragge Blue or the deep blue Contrast Paint with a lot of Lahmian Medium or water. I was hoping for more of a revision on this unit – notably removing mortal wounds from range en masse like they can be but they still do that and still have Power of Hysh which is the same as before.
