About this deal

Topping LA90 houses boat loads of power. In stereo mode, it outputs up to 110W@4Ω of load and in Mono mode, it provides up to 220W@ 8Ω of load. These numbers are extremely good, these reflect the LA90 can power most speaker setups in the industry. It has two level gain settings with +6.7dB gain in Low-Gain mode and +19dB in the high gain mode. The THD+N is <0.0001%@4Ω/5W, <0.0001%@8 Ω/5W. This is already as low as an excellent DAC. It means a more accurate reproduction of the music source. The LA90 Discrete has a very wide working range with low distortion under load. Even in the commonly used 4 Ω load 1W-60W output and 8 Ω load 1W-40W output, the LA90 Discrete can control the distortion around 0.0001%. High current discrete output circuit gives higher bridging power. With 4 ohms bridged, up to 180W of power is enough to make the sound more complete and fuller. Amir has measured the A90-D and its nearly the same performance as the original A90 so it should be great match for the LA90-D Accidents, abuse, misuse, improper installation, problems with electrical power, acts of third parties. The Topping LA90 can be used as a stereo two-channel amplifier or as a high-power mono amplifier. In the Mono mode, it is recommended to use 8Ω and above impedance loads. The stereo mode supports 4Ω and above impedance loads. In the mono mode, the THD+N Distortion value is further lowered and achieves an even cleaner performance. Three Sets Of Selectable Inputs:-

It is clear that Topping engineers are bringing their expertise in designing ultra low noise and distortion in headphone amplification to power amplifiers. As such, they have outdone every amplifier I have measured in that regard, getting ahead to capture the #1 position with a large gap to #2 choice. The comparison between the TOPPING LA90 and LA90D provides a fascinating look at the evolution of these power amplifiers. While the LA90 is discontinued, it's interesting to see how TOPPING built upon its design to create the improved LA90D, which boasts an NFCA discrete amplifier circuit, a higher SNR, and more powerful output. Specs aside, (amp numbers way better than dac!), couldn't be happier. Completely dead quiet & no sonic signature that I can discern. Just saying, the little LS-50's music never sounded cleaner & smooth clear with many familiar jazz & classical "refs". I've run them previously with an Odyssey Khartago, Plinius Odeon, Kinki M-7 & Purifi ET-400 etc So I've got their 'sonic flavour' down, and thru the Topping it's as good as, with a cherry and chocolate sprinkles!

The LA90D comes with a 12V trigger interface, allowing it to be easily integrated into a larger audio system. This feature was not available in the LA90. Size: No Difference Here

Two gain levels

In the world of audio amplifiers, TOPPING has been making waves with its high-quality products. Recently, TOPPING discontinued their LA90 power amplifier to make room for the second generation LA90 Discrete NFCA Power Amplifier (LA90D). Both models offer impressive performance, but there are some key differences you should know about. In this comparison, we'll explore their similarities, differences, and use cases to help you understand how the newest model outshines its predecessor. Discrete Amplifier Circuit: Introducing NFCA LA90 Discrete comes with three sets of balanced inputs, compatible with XLR and TRS interfaces, allows 2-step Gain setting. It can be configured in the common stereo two channel mode or in high-power mono made, with a minimum load of 42 when using the mono mode. use not following the ‘User Guide’ or any additional safety, use, or warnings included in the product materials. While both amplifiers have 2-step gain settings, there are some differences in the values. The LA90 offers gain settings of +6.7dB and +19dB, while the LA90D provides +9.4dB and +19.4dB in Stereo mode and +15.4dB and +25.4dB in Mono mode. This distinction may affect the sound output depending on the user's preferences and listening environment. Mono and Stereo Modes: Flexibility for Both
