About this deal

The writer Anthony Burgess named his first novel Time for a Tiger (the first part of the Malayan trilogy The Long Day Wanes) as the beer was popular in the Malaya of the 1950s, where Burgess was working. Wait, with the higher alcohol content - does it taste more beer-ish? I don't like the taste of beer. Again, not quite. Here's a fun fact for you: when it first launched, it was meant to be priced the same as Tiger Beer. But after some time, the Radler's price became lower. IMHO the lowered pricing made more sense... because how does a 2% ABV product fall in the same price range as a 5% ABV one? Vietnamese beer has become a vibrant and significant part of local culture. It’s no doubt that the citizens enjoy the drink as in 2016, it was reported that the average person in Vietnam consumes 42 litres of beer annually.

The oldest and best-known Thai beer inside and outside of Thailand is Singha beer, which is brewed in the Boon Rawd Brewery. The Boon Rawd brewery started to brew in 1933 in the north of Bangkok and is one of the more modern and large Breweries in Thailand.

Is Tiger Beer Gluten-Free?

But off the top of my head, you’ve got Asahi, Kirin Ichiban (my favourite Japanese lager), and Sapporo. China sells Tsingtao, Snow Beer, and Zhujiang Beer. Then there is Chang, Singha, and Phuket beer from Thailand, and San Miguel (no, not the Spanish one) from the Philippines.

The "It's Time for a Tiger" slogan for Tiger Beer has run for decades since its inception in the 1930s. The beer in Thailand is regarded as a feudal refreshment with alcohol component, which can be bought in bottles as well as cans. Only a smart amount is delivered as barrel goods to gastronomic companies. The leaders among the beer brands are Singha, Tiger, Leo, Chang and Phuket beer.Yup, that's the one and the same. Shandy's been around in Malaysia for a very long time actually. I remembered having my first shandy when I was a child nearly 30 years ago. The aroma is not great, very light, an ok lagery smell, all malty and grainy on the nose but too light and a little too much corn and very sweet. Can find it as 5% vol. in other regions of the world. Comes in a bottle, can or from the tap. Popular in Asia especially as it is the perfect beer to have as the sun goes down. Love the famous iconic branding, the famous tiger logo and nice big colourful lettering, the blue, orange and gold. Stands out for sure. On the bottle we get “World acclaimed Asian lager”, born in Singapore and this is an “award winning full bodied beer”. Shandy? You mean that sweet bubbly can drink that kids love to drink over Chinese New Year pretending that they are adults?
