Repentia need to spend a CP to have a real shot at effectiveness against Death Guard and units like the Blightspawn can turn off Zealot. The challenge is that they can score a ton of VP without interacting, which means Death Guard armies need to be ready to go on the aggressive against them.
Don’s list is an evolution of the vehicle-heavy lists he brought to tables in 2021, though he’s lightened up on the Daemon Engines in favor of Forge World units. Alternatively, follow the 5th Plague Company, the Poxmongers, and join their mass Daemon Engine assaults. When a unit disembarks from a TRANSPORT model, set it up on the battlefield so that it is wholly within 3" of that TRANSPORT model and not within Engagement Range of any enemy models. If, for any reason, a disembarking model cannot be set up, that model’s unit cannot disembark. Sisters are also going to be a challenge, particularly if they’re also using the same rule, and both Thousand Sons and Grey Knights are going to give Death Guard fits, particularly lists that can’t take the Abhor the Witch secondary objective. Finally new Tyranids are also going to be an uphill battle for the faction. Essentially any faction that can still throw out a lot of mortal wounds is going to be a problem for the new Terminator-heavy meta.Deathshroud Champion [1 PL, -1CP, 65pts]: Acidic Malady [1 PL, 15pts], Chimes of contagion, Plague Skull of Glothila, 2x Plaguespurt gauntlet, Stratagem: Champion of Disease [-1CP] Changes to the ally rules prevent taking more than a Patrol of Chaos Daemons… but you weren’t taking them anyways. Plague Marine w/ boltgun [84pts]: 4x Blight grenades, 4x Boltgun, 4x Krak grenades, 4x Plague knife The new Force Org changes a number of things for Death Guard, but in ways that mostly don’t matter: The even better news is that each of the seven Plague Companies of the Death Guard has been blessed with rules that reflect the way that they wage war. Each Company gets a unique Warlord Trait, a Putrescent Relic and their own Stratagems. Follow Typhus in the 1st Plague Company, the Harbingers, and spread the blessings of the zombie plague.

Let’s walk through the basic changes and then talk about what it means for the faction. The new Force Org I have also done a lot of theorycrafting on this, comparing the Helbrute, Blight-Hauler and the Plagueburst Crawler (I didn’t compare the Predator because it’s more expensive or the Forgeworld Dreadnoughts). Here was what I came up with: EL: 10x Blightlord Terminators, 6x Combi-Bolter, 2x Blight Launcher, 8x Bubotic Axe, 2x Flail of Corruption What better way to spread Grandfather Nurgle’s diseases than through stabbing your enemies?
