You filled a part of my soul I always thought would be empty, and you healed scars I never knew existed. And I realizedā¦itās not that I didnāt believe in love before. Itās that I was saving it all for you.ā Book Two of the interconnected-standalone Twisted series by TikTok sensation, Ana Huang. A contemporary, forbidden romance between a princess and her bodyguardā¦ rhys talks dirty. other than that thereās nothing else about him that was appealing. tattooed and scarred. muscled. NEXT!Twisted Hate is a passionate romance about two people who start as enemies but eventually fall in love. Itās the third book in the Twisted series. The thing that bothered me the most, however, wasn't the writing, it was the TIME JUMPS. This was insane. I felt like this book was just a bunch of one-shots (by that I'm not talking about the smut but rather emphasizing how uncoherent the story was, it felt like a collection of short stories about the protagonists) and absurdly huge time jumps in between. Often times, I found myself really enjoying the story and the progression of it and then boom, A THREE-MONTH TIME JUMP that provided nothing but gave the author a chance to move on with the next plot point without building any relationships between the characters. The fact she made videos on her tiktok saying āwell itās my books i donāt care and if you donāt like men degrading women you shouldnāt read itā but WHY ARE YOU WRITING IT?! Theirs is a love twisted with secrets and tainted by lies ā and when the truths are finally revealed, they could shatter everythingā¦
I changed the rating to 4.75 from a 4.5. Hereās the thingāthis had all of the makings of a 5 star book EXCEPT for the fact that I found the beginning quite slow. And I fully get that its slow burn, its meant to be that way, but I canāt ignore how i felt when I was still in the beginning stages.

Twisted Lies was alright. The story of Stella and Christian was hard to follow. The ending of this story is not like the other three, and that's how I personally feel. Despite all that th I think the writing improved a ton, and the time jumps were that much easier to follow whereas i felt like it was a little difficult to know how much time had passed in the first book (one of the main reasons I gave that a 4). This one is just way better for me. ITS STEAMIER, ITS SO POSSESSIVE, the tension between them. Iām literally so into it š Another thing I loved about the series is how connected each of the books were and how you got to see the characters in previous books grow and develop as well. It was so much fun seeing this mismatched group of people go from college friends to adults managing their success and families. The highlight was absolutely reading about Alex with his children - My heart MELTED! The secrecy, the tension, the pining, the chemistry.. UGH it was just all soooo good and so well written!!! The way they both wanted one another since the beginning.. I was MELTINGGGG!!!!
The time jumps was another element that bothered me. Whilst they were necessary to the story, I did not like the way it was handled initially. It interrupted the flow of the story for me. There was no natural progression into the time jump - it was just abrupt and the reader was just expected to go along with it. Ava thinks Alex is an emotionless robot so Ava and her friends decide to put that theory to the test. This leads to them spending loads of time together but Ava is haunted by memories she canāt clearly remember and Alex has his own demons to fight. If Bridget were anyone but my client, Iād drag her into the bathroom, bend her over, and spank her ass raw for her insolent tone. Mediocre chemistry, and too much was going in the story, and it all overshadowed this couple's love story. Ana Huang also didn't deliver well on them from beginning to end.) I know that this series is insanely popular and it has a huge fan following, RHYS AND BRIDGET ACT LIKE CHILDREN, argue with the wall.

Stella 4.0 stars. Best girl award. Loved when she stood up for herself against her family and when she broke up with Christian. Ana Huang made her a little inconsistent in the middle of the book, but that's not our girl's fault! Blame Ana Huang.
