About this deal

Designed for daily use in the classroom or as structured, consistent homework, with enough material for the whole school year. provides a variety of mental problems in a number of contexts in all Australian Curriculum Mathematics strands Mental maths strategies are the foundation of most of the areas of mathematics that use numbers. By teaching mental maths to pupils, we are giving them the tools they need to succeed in mathematical concepts that require the manipulation of numbers. Modern and contemporary layout using subtle colours, which is not distracting or overwhelming for the pupil.

Studies have also shown that mental arithmetic can significantly boost the capacity of the brain. Maths assessment is provided through the online portal, allowing teachers to record pupils' progression. Problem-solving questions are drawn from a mixture of strands and strand units, incorporating real-life maths contexts and situations.Mental Maths is a superb daily resource used throughout the school. It starts each day for me in the classroom. The children enjoy the daily work, are encouraged by repetition, familiarity of concepts, regularity of all strands of the curriculum. They look forward to their Friday tests. A true reflection of this is evident when the children ask when is it Maths time? without associating Mental Maths with actual maths lessons. It is a huge success. It is also very handy for homework. Maith sibh Prim-Ed. Niamh Kelly

Finally, if Friday tests were given as perforated strips which could be torn out week by week to be given in actual test style, that would be terrific. Currently I am using Mental Maths 1. I have used all the other levels during the course of my teaching and have found each level equally invaluable. The concise weekly/daily layout of the book, the variety of topics covered, the scope of revision of topics, the introduction of new topics are important factors which influence me as teacher to choose this book. I find the children ‘love’ this book, they like the repetitive aspect and enjoy monitoring and recording of their individual scores. For me it is a must on each book list!
