He tries to take off the bomb attached to Mater, but his drill won't do it and he gets frustrated and leaves. In Unidentified Flying Mater, Luigi is watching Guido struggle to take the rim off a tourist, and when it finally comes off, it flies out of the shop and in front of Mater and Lightning, reminding Mater about his friend Mator. His best friend is Luigi, his boss at Luigi's Casa Della Tires. In The Simpsons, there were some references about Cars. In the episode " Beware My Cheating Bart" (S23E18), at the cinema entrance is the title of a movie called Cars 3: Merchandise. In the episode " The Ned-liest Catch" (S23E22), one of the characters, Milhouse, mentions Cars. He says "I sleep under my bed every night because I'm scared of cars from Cars. If gasoline is their food, then why they have teeth?" In the English version of Cars, Guido speaks Italian. But in the Italian version, he speaks Emilian dialect. Ironically, his pit stop speed can be easily beaten by a real life F1 team (though F1 only has one lug nut)Another racing rival that Lightning had bad blood with was Francesco Bernoulli, although the two would later overcome their differences and become friends, as evidenced in installments such as Cars 2: The Video Game, Cars: Fast as Lightning, and all three installments of the Disney Infinity series. After trash-talking Lightning on live television, Lightning and Francesco found themselves against each other in the World Grand Prix, in which Francesco managed to beat Lightning in the first race, but McQueen won at the following race, with the third and final event having no defined victor.
