About this deal

I’ve been dyeing my hair – mainly to keep on top of my greys – for more years than I can remember. I was somewhere in my late teens when hair colouring was done for fun and feeling ‘grown up’ rather than necessity. But recently I grew tired of the upkeep in maintaining a look of youthfulness and perfection I was far from feeling, so I gave up on the dye. Overall I am impressed with this range of products, I haven’t seen anything else like it before. I am happy with how it has left my hair feeling, there is a slight improvement in the shine that my hair has. I do agree that it adds nice rich tones to the hair and has definitely helped to blend out where my hair has grown out from my last dye job.

Apply liberally throughout wet hair. Lather. Leave on at least 3-5 minutes for the first use. Leave on up to 3 minutes for each subsequent use. Rinse well. To tame and blend away wiry greys, follow with Defy Grey Conditioner. For optimal grey blending results, finish with Defy Grey Foam. The foam itself doesn’t have a scent and is a light beige in colour. Make sure to wash your hands after applying to the hair or it will stain your skin ! It is easily spread throughout the hair, although I did concentrate on the front of my hairline as this is where I have most Grey’s. This John Frieda Defy Grey Brunette Blending Blow Dry Foam gradually infuses brunette tones to blend away first greys. DISCLAIMER: NOT A ROOT TOUCH UP PRODUCT. Not intended for use on patchy areas or high levels of grey. Avoid intentionally working into scalp roots/partline to avoid skin staining. Ingredients This John Frieda Defy Grey Brunette Blending Shampoo gradually blends away first greys into brunette tones. With Coffee Extract & GreyBlend™ Technology.

The information again is the same for this product. The directions for this product are as follows :- Both the shampoo and conditioner smell amazing to use. Not too dissimilar to a premium fragrance, the divine scent creates a luxurious experience from what could be a mundane task. The silky texture of the chestnut shade shampoo feels lovely too and it lathers into a rich foam easily, and even though the product is coloured, it doesn’t leave a mark on my hands.

I can say that the shampoo itself doesn’t have much of a scent at all, the consistency is quite liquidy and is a shimmery brown in colour. It lathers well once applied to wet hair. It is recommended to leave on for 5 minutes before washing out upon first use, and then 3 minutes for each consecutive use. The same goes for the conditioner in regards to directions, leave on 5 mins for the first use and 3 minutes consecutively. Upon washing the conditioner out the hair feels very sleek and smooth. In regards to the Grey hairs it has blended in quite a few of them although they are not completely gone. I did have quite a few very white hairs at the front that are not as prominent now but they are still white. For those who are also looking for a low-commitment solution to covering their first greys, the new Defy Grey range is a hassle-free way of helping to blend away whites on brunette hair with less than 50% grey. The clever combination of coffee extract and GreyBlend technology works by depositing a natural-looking brown tone on the pigment-less strands of hair, which then blends with your own shade from the first use. I don't want all over colour and I definitely don't want to go darker. I'm quite happy with my natural colour but I dont suppose my stylist will be able to match it exactly. I guess I'd like some lights dotted around, maybe a shade or two lighter than my own, to blend in as much of the grey as possible. I don't want it to be glaringly noticeable as it grows out, either. I'm not brave! I've got to 50 without feeling the need to colour my hair and I'm really quite apprehensive.I might try the John Frieda shampoo too, sounds good, does it make much change to the ‘natural’ hair colour? I do think this will be great to prolong my dyed hair for a few more weeks in-between dyings and I will continue to use it . It does leave my hair looking healthier and more manageable. Im just not sure the blonde shade does much for my complexion, plus I'm really interested to see what my grey looks like! If you do have the first signs of grey or would like to prolonge your dye job I would definitely recommend this range and am glad that I got the chance to try it. I don’t wash my hair all that much – once a week, or twice if I’m particularly enthusiastic about my self care. So over the following month (and several washes) my regular hair care was replaced by the Defy Grey.
