About this deal

Requiem is the absolute ideal name for the album’s final song. And it’s a song of life’s end, a sombre reflection of desperation, of barren regret. It’s also got an orchestral, Steinman-like big production sense about it, and it brings the curtain down on the album with a sense of great theatre. You just couldn’t predict the song’s construction, and that unpredictability is something that runs through the whole album. When you look at the book of Revelation, there it is. I’ve always dipped into esoteric knowledge, Hermeticism, Occultism, Bible research, Eclectic philosophy. I’ve been fascinated with discovery of hidden mysteries. Jeb Wright (November 12, 2012). "Discover the 10 albums that changed Joe Lynn Turner's life". Goldmine. Joe, who recently signed with Mascot Label Group, has emotionally spoken of his journey when announcing the 28 October release of his album Belly Of The Beast.

Your new album, Belly Of The Beast , was made with Swedish producer and death-metal musician Peter Tägtgren, and it’s surprisingly heavy stuff for you. Turner was extensively interviewed for the 2016 book, The Other Side of Rainbow, by author Greg Prato, and is also featured on the book's cover. [13] hours ago Italian Thrash Metal Band URAL Unleashes New Video-Clip for “Blood Red Sand” from Third Album “Psychoverse” GRAHAM BONNET Praises JOE LYNN TURNER's 'Bravery' for Finally Ditching His Wig: 'You Have Blazed a Trail Today' ". August 26, 2022. in 2014 a band he was in: Rated X, released their self-titled debut through Frontiers. The band was led by Carmine Appice of Vanilla Fudge, The Firm bassist Tony Franklin, and guitarist Karl Cochran.Gentle piano introduces ‘Rise Up’ and then we are off to the races with the up tempo beat. This is a terrific pumping tune with a fantastic chorus. Live this should be a full on fists in the air crowd pleaser. I was in touch with them way before, and if we’d put a Rainbow extravaganza together with the singers and players from the past it would have been enormous. But someone told Ritchie that I wanted a million dollars, which of course wasn’t true, so in the end Ritchie did what he did. Don’t Fear the Dark’ reminds me of Dio, and in a very good way. But Joe Lynn Turner is very much his own man, so don’t let the comparisons fool you. The song positively pumps along. With ‘Fallen World’ JLT tells us all that is wrong with the world, and has some swirling keyboard and guitar to support it over an almost spoken word/rap delivery in places.

In 2000, Turner first approached former Trapeze and Deep Purple bassist, Glenn Hughes to perform some live dates in Japan in support of Turner's sixth solo album, Holy Man. In 2001, the pair formed Hughes Turner Project. The collaboration resulted in two studio albums ( HTP and HTP2) and a live album ( Live in Tokyo) between 2001 and 2003. In 2005, Hughes and Turner collaborated once more on the Russian studio project Michael Men Project's album Made in Moscow.Known for his mirror-sheen voice, this song sees JLT give it some hell with a real gravely feel to this tub-thumping anthem that sounds to me like a mix of Iron Maiden, Nightwish and yeah, Saxon, but all mixed up with Joe Lynn Turner’s singing. It’s dark, doomy and catchy, all at the same time. And if anyone thinks that’s an easy thing to create, think again. This song does what it says on the tin, telling the listener that all is not lost, no matter how bad things get, With a title like Living The Dream, surely, I thought to myself, we’re into optimism, a cup half full? Musically, the song has a complete, almost commercial-type riff. The lyrics are a reflection on life, a life well-lived, with a hint of realism. This is a song about facing life’s challenges, and even if the dreams don’t come true, even if they don’t always turn out the way you wanted them to, you still tried, and you still lived your life. It’s a fabulous, realistic, honest look at all of us and a celebration of all of our lives, be they magic, mystical or mundane. This song is quiet, understated brilliance. Mr. Big Tribute – Influences and Connections (2003) – "Colorado Bulldog", "Daddy Brother Lover Little Boy" Alopecia can affect just your scalp or your entire body, and it can be temporary or permanent. It can be the result of heredity, hormonal changes, medical conditions or a normal part of ageing. Anyone can lose hair on their head, but it’s more common in men. Before I listened to Belly Of The Beast, my experience of Joe Lynn Turner was when he was in Rainbow and then Deep Purple, and I remember a singer with an impeccable, smooth voice. While sometimes skirting the odd social issue, his lyrics remained well and truly in the accessible and largely radio-friendly wing of this beautifully broad church that is Heavy Metal.

She said: “You gotta do it! And this is the perfect time. New album – update yourself. You’re seventy-one years old, who are you trying to impress?” I said: “Okay, I’m scared shitless but I’m gonna do it.”A number of the songs are apocalyptic in lyrical content and equally apocalyptic in musical delivery! He has taken a look into the pit of despair and written about the breakdown in society that the worse in humanity can show us.

After his stints with Rising Force and Deep Purple, Turner spent the mid-1990s through 2008, working on his solo career. It was during that time, Turner released an additional nine studio albums and two live albums, to go along with his 1985 offering, Rescue You. It happened completely by accident, but some of the best things happen by accident,” Joe notes. “I was not very familiar with Peter‘s bands PAIN and HYPOCRISY, but when we met, I loved his personality, and I felt like we had a chemistry together. On the writing side, you have to change and grow to mature. I had this in me. As far as pushing into a heavy vein, Peter said, ‘ Joe adapted his voice,’ which is the truth. It’s still me though. I kept it dirty, gritty, and metal.” That same year (1987), he joined Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force and recorded the album Odyssey. [7] The brief tour that followed the release of the album included a concert in Leningrad, which was recorded and then released as Trial by Fire (1989). [7] Later that year he left the band. [7] Deep Purple [ edit ] Is this “Disappointing” rating personal? Sure, but I am actually a person. Expecting and hoping for some classy AOR but instead getting some chugging generic metal leads to disappointment. Cap it all off with some over-the-top rants, and you’re left with a tepid outing that could have – no, should have – been so much more. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got several olde Rainbow albums I need to go snuggle up with. It’s also far past time to dive into Joe Lynn Turner’s solo discography and hear what I might have been missing out on. This is Priest-style speed and Metal. Surprised? Oh yeah. Liking it? Oh YEAH! I’m abducted and taken through orchestral, Accept-like choruses, and I’m asking myself again, is this the same guy who sang in Rainbow? I mean, I’m not complaining. I’m just so, so surprised. This is unexpected with a capital U, and even after just one song, I’m left thinking to myself, Heavy Metal, don’t you just love the curve balls it throws at you?
