Shell Sizes Shell Sizes This is the number of different outer shell sizes used to cover the range of head sizes. So, given that every AIM shelled Shoei scored a four star rating (apart from the original GT Air that scored three) we’d have to say that, were SHARP to test the shell of the J-Cruise II (which they won’t because it’s not got a chin bar) then I guess it probably would score 4 stars. Unfortunately, this helmet is noisy, and it's annoying. You don't even have to be going very fast, and you'll start to hear that annoying wind whooshing sound. It also doesn't use the best materials for the shell and liner construction. They effectively protect you but won't be the most comfortable either. Specs At its most basic, Bluetooth is a low-frequency radio signal that allows a number of devices to be connected (paired). Early Bluetooth could only pair one device at a time. Now three is common, which means you can have your smartphone for music or calls, a GPS for directions, and an intercom to talk to others (a passenger riding pillion or other riders). Built-in FM radio is another common option. Entry-level Bluetooth helmets allow up to three people to communicate, though more is possible (see details below).
The other’s the DOT (US) helmet that’s also available in white too, and it comes in sizes XS-XXL and in two different shell sizes. Sadly, premium models from different makers are unlikely to work together. Some offer a “universal” mode, but numerous independent testers have found it flaky at best. The range quoted by Sena seems to be about right – 1 mile in perfect line-of-sight conditions, deteriorating quite a bit in urban areas as you’d expect. The Savage has a 650mAh battery built in – like other intercoms, you can’t replace it, but I’d expect it to last the safe life of the helmet (five to seven years). The three-button control on the helmet’s left side is simple and intuitive. Most of the system’s major functions are mapped to a single button press. All in all then, the J-Cruise II does a good job of making a protective helmet; just not anywhere near as protective as a full face or the safest modulars. Helmet Noise (more about helmet noise) Unfortunately, this helmet doesn't come with the Bluetooth system itself, so plan to buy that separately. The helmet also creates a lot of wind noise, starting at around 50 miles per hour. Some riders may find the face shield difficult to use as its extra-wide length makes it more flexible, which means it can bow out when attempting to latch. SpecsHelmet roll-off is a potential thing with all helmets – but a double-d ring fastener should be good for keeping it firmly on your head. Just make sure you’re diligent with fastening it – any strap’s only as effective as the piece of meat who’s fastening it up. There, think that about covers it. It’s an open face so don’t expect it to stop your chin/face/nose taking a battering if you have an off.
