About this deal

The first option is by AMVR, pictured above. I’ve got this stand myself and it’s a fantastic if you want something simple and inexpensive that blends in and matches the clean white aesthetic. The two arms that hold the Touch controllers are also optional, so if you’d rather remove them and have the controllers sitting upside down beside the Quest, that’s an option too.

All Oculus Quest and Quest 2 headsets include an audio system that releases sound from the head strap area, which works quite well as basic, ready-to-go solution. Still, a lot of detailed sounds are lost with this system. Did you know, for instance, there are ambient sounds in the home area of Oculus Quest? You might not hear that with the out-of-the-box audio experience on Quest.Meta Quest: *Parents:* Important guidance and safety warnings for children's use here. Meta accounts for ages 10+ on Meta Quest 2 and 3; all other Meta Quest headsets for ages 13+. Certain apps, games and experiences may be suitable for a more mature audience. Meta quest features, functionality and content notice: Features, functionality and content are subject to change or withdrawal at any time, may not be available in all areas or languages or may be restricted; may require enabled software or service activation, and additional terms, conditions and/or charges may apply. If you have a permanent spot in your house for your Quest 2, you’re going to need something to put it on. If used in combination with the USB rechargeable batteries above, you would be able to use one outlet to recharge your Quest and controllers at the same time If a smudge is being stubborn, Facebook says users can dab a small amount of water on the cloth as well, but alcohol should not be used on lenses at all. Even though two years isn’t long in the gaming world at large – the Xbox One and PS4 era lasted around seven years, and the Xbox 360 and PS3 era before it lasted just as long – VR gaming has moved on considerably from where it was when the Quest 2 launched.

said:...no smartphone or PC required.Except for the one required to set it up. >_> Why is that a requirement anyway? I don't see any reason they couldn't have the configuration built in, using the motion controller and menus in the HMD to set everything up. And what permissions does that companion app require? It seems like a convenient way to harvest data off people's phones. The lenses are one of the most vulnerable parts of the Quest headset — they can be permanently scratched and direct sunlight can be magnified through them, resulting in burnt screen pixels. Oculus recommends wiping the lenses down with a dry optical lens microfiber cloth, starting from the center of the lens and wiping gently in a circular motion outward. Facebook says alcohol-based wipes and cleaners are not recommended for use on the lenses, as they can lead to damage. Difficult boss fights will undoubtedly drive you mad. Coming better prepared to a fight with improved gear and prevailing however is pure ecstasy. If you love the sweet torture of Soulsborne games, you’ll be playing Until You Fall. We’ve tried some lens protectors, like this one from Orzero, and found they work well on Quest 2 (and other headsets — the shape is pretty generic) to protect them from sunlight and dust. We’re talking Quest 2 exclusive games like Resident Evil 4, which is currently available, in addition to hotly anticipated games like Ghostbusters VR, the classic hit GTA San Andreas VR, and Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed VR. These last few are scheduled to launch sometime in the near future, but only on Meta’s hardware.

Rumors swirled that the Pico headset would also come to the US, but that has yet to happen. So for now, unless you can import a Pico 4, you can only choose Meta’s VR headset if you’re in the US or Australia. But for those of you in the UK, if we just looked at the price, the Pico 4 is the better option. Pico 4 vs the Oculus Quest 2: design

In terms of the VR experience, the Quest 2 comes very close to the Rift S, but with a much higher resolution (1,832 by 1,920 vs. 1,280 by 1,440). Its Snapdragon 865 processor is powerful enough that you can run plenty of games on the headset itself, like Beat Saber and Superhot VR. The Quest 2 runs into a performance wall when compared to Rift S' PC power, but again, that can be solved by buying an accessory cable. In terms of CPU and storage options, both headsets are identical – using the same Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 chip and coming in either 128GB or 256GB options. Where possible, we’ve noted the items that we’ve been able to test ourselves and also tried to provide a few options for each category, varying in price, purpose and quality. All VR headsets have a fairly similar design; a display covers your eyes and is attached to your head via straps. But within those parameters, two headsets can still look fairly different. The Oculus Touch controllers use one AA battery each, so if you use your Quest a lot, you’re going to go through batteries over time. To save some money long-term and help the environment, it is worth investing in some quality rechargeable AA batteries.

It’s impressive to see a game of this scale and design run so smoothly on the Quest 2’s mobile chip. On top of tight controls, immersive environments and a fun gameplay loop, developer BigBox VR is constantly rolling out live events to keep the game feeling fresh. Features overcharge protection, overload protection, and over current protection to safely charge your devices. The Oculus Rift S improves on the previous Rift headset with a sharper screen and a camera array that doesn't require external sensors. A novice player might turn on a bonus multiplier helper, while a sadis — I mean expert ups the challenge by limiting their game to a single mistake before failure. Recently, Beat Saber added a multiplayer update so you can compete head-to-head against friends to see who the most skillful swordsman is within your friend group.

The big benefit of the Rift S is its store. It uses the PC-based Oculus Store, which has had a few years to build up an impressive library of games and apps. There are lots of compelling experiences to try here, including a more feature-complete and potentially moddable version of Beat Saber. If the Oculus Store isn't enough, you can also browse SteamVR for even more games (though be prepared to wrestle with settings to get the two platforms to work with each other). However, with Oculus Link, all of those options are available on the Quest 2, as well. However, realistically any 2.0 or higher cable from a reliable brand should work fine, with 3.0 and above giving the best results. You may also need to buy a USB C to A adapter (which will also need to be USB 2.0 specification or higher) to plug the cable into your computer, depending on if it has a native USB-C port onboard. The charging stand from AMVR for the Meta Quest 2 has a slightly unique design. You get a single pedestal attached to a base which then branches out to give you slots to hang the controllers too. However, the facial interface replacements are the best option if you plan on exercising and getting sweaty in VR — you can easily swap the covers our when things get a bit slippery.
