Furthermore, Twyla is autistic, and part of her condition is sensory sensitivity. She's easily startled by loud noises and wears noise-canceling headphones in the form of cobwebs, without them she turns into a shadow.

In Monster High there is only one boogie monster that's ever seen being Twyla Boogeyman, so her appearance is a template for boogie monsters. She has light purple-blue skin, with grey hands and feet. The grey pattern on her hands are swirls invoking shadows. Twyla's eyes can also glow in the dark a trait most boogie monsters may have. As a boogeyman, Twyla owns all the abilities of her fellow boogie monsters, mostly related to shadows.
