Between 1994 and 1996, Saban Home Entertainment, in association with PolyGram Video and Warner Home Video, released videotapes of the series in the United States. In 2000, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment released seven compilation VHS tapes. In 2012, Shout! Factory released 19 discs to Comic-Con International and a 20-disc set exclusively to Time Life of all three seasons and Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers. In that same year, Shout! Factory reissued the 19 discs to wider retail. They also released two volumes for both seasons 1 and 2 of the series, as well as the complete third season. In January 2014, the complete series, as well as the remaining 17 seasons in the entire Power Rangers franchise, was released in 98-disc set. The series has also been released on VHS in the UK and Australia, and Region 2 DVD. The first 30 episodes of season 1 have been released to Region 4 DVD.

The Firebird is one of the five components to the Thunder Megazord. When the Zord is formed, the Firebird would wrap itself around the Red Dragon Thunderzord's waist, forming the belt. Along with the rest of the Thunderzord Assault Team, it could also combine with the White Tigerzord to form the Mega Tigerzord. The Firebird would form a claw on the White Tigerzord's right arm, also serving as the Mega Tigerzord's common finishing move as it was launched from the arm and charged with energy. As part of the Thunderzord Assault Team, it sits on a pedestal behind the Red Dragon, wings outstretched. The Assault Team could then also form the top portion of the Thunder Ultrazord. Similar to the Tyrannosaurus Dinozord, the Red Dragon was capable of fighting and defeating a monster on its own. Its finishing involved producing its spear and spinning it at high speeds, allowing it to spray red sparks capable of blinding monsters. It would then slide forward and fatally energy slash the monsters who would collapse onto their sides and explode. As a last resort, Kimberly teleports to the Command Center of that era where its era's Zordon gives her what she'll need to face Needlenose if her friends' ancestors can help. There's just one problem; they don't even know how to fight. The White Stranger arrives to give the Rangers a hand.An inter-dimensional being trapped in a time warp, he is the wise mentor of the Rangers, who also bestowed their powers. 10,000 years ago, Zordon led the fight against the forces of evil, specifically Rita.
