No buzzing, just a white light and didn't pair with the console when I powered on. Holding power/mute/etc doesn't seem to do anything (as indicated in the OP). The no audio output and stuttering/freezing of videos only happens when the audio output "Headphone (Arctis 7 Game)" is selected.

It says the headset is disconnected from Xbox however I get a flashing white LED light on the headset, same as when you hold the power button for 10 seconds to do initial pairing with Xbox. This flashing light does not seem to turn off.
