Whatever the time of year, Corona is best served ice cold and with a wedge of lime, that both complements and intensifies the flavor, with the refreshing citrus notes. Every sip of Corona, conjures images of golden sands and pale blue skies, transporting you to instant relaxation and disconnection. You may have thought that Corona being called “piss” was little more than a bad joke at the brunt of its yellow color and oft-funky flavor, but the beer being distributed with actual urine in it was a real rumor that circulated in the 1980s thanks to rival beer brand, Heineken. For the record: Corona is not and does not contain urine; it just looks like it, and sometimes smells like it. Corona has four types, and comes in 24 official formats

In May 2020, the factory was the venue for BBC's Life Drawing Live!, where artists at the venue and viewers at home had the opportunity to draw from nude life models. Corona Extra proudly proclaimed itself the official beer sponsor of the infamous Mayweather vs. McGregor fight (soap opera?) in August 2017. You can view boxers and bouts in Corona’s video gallery and fight gallery. Corona is the first imported beer brand to partner with a U.S. university The unmistakable colour, the one-of-a-kind taste, the unparalleled flavor of relaxation makes it 'la cerveza mas fina', made for gathering with friends. Subtle flavours and low alcohol intensity means Corona can be overpowered. However, it's fragrant nature and citrus notes, when combined with lime, also make it a great partner for several cuisines: in particular Thai, Chinese and Mexican. The sweetness from the malts is also at the right level to reduce medium heat that can often be found in dishes from these areas. Corona was a brand of carbonated soft drink produced by Thomas & Evans Ltd in South Wales, and distributed across the United Kingdom. The firm was created by grocers William Thomas and William Evans when they saw a market for soft drinks caused by the growing influence of the temperance movement. The company's first factory was based in Porth, Rhondda, eventually expanding to 87 depots and factories throughout Britain. [1] Corona was sold to the Beecham Group in 1958 and subsequently to Britvic, but stopped trading as a brand in the late 1990s.

Born in Mexico and brought up on the beach, Corona is lighter than traditional beers, with a crisp and refreshing taste. The aroma is fruity-honey with a touch of malt and the flavour is crisp and well-balanced between hops and malt, toward the malt side. With the advent of supermarkets, however, the need for door to door delivery gradually dropped away. By the end of the 1980s they were a luxury and like the milk, bread and fish vans that had plied their trade around the streets for years, the Corona delivery man was soon a thing of the past. It didn't stop the sale of the product, it just meant that the personal door to door touch had gone. Corona Extra– With a smooth, refreshing taste perfectly balanced between lighter local beers and stronger European imports, Corona extra is a well-adjusted beer with aromas of honey and fruit plus hints of malt. It has a clean and crisp flavor due to the perfect combination of malt and hops, giving it an excellent taste profile. The pop - carbonated beverage to give it the correct name - was produced by the Corona Soft Drinks Company, a firm that had been created by two Rhondda grocers, William Evans and William Thomas. The original factory opened in the 1890s under the name of Welsh Hills Mineral Waters, the name Corona only being adopted in the 1920s as the company expanded its range of activities to include all of Wales and many parts of England. In 1882 William Evans (born 1864), who himself came from Pembrokeshire, came to work at the shop and lived with the family for three years. The two men became business partners setting up a chain of grocery stores and a few years later they branched into the soft drinks market. [2] Initially, Evans had not considered producing non-alcoholic beverages, but a chance meeting with an American business man and the growing temperance movement in the South Wales valleys led him to the production of carbonated drinks. [1] [3] Although partners, Thomas provided the money to set up the business and the money he loaned to Evans was at an interest rate of 50%. [2] The door to door deliveries proved so successful - though they did little to reduce drunkenness - that further factories were opened in places such as Pengam, Maesteg and Bridgend. By 1934 the Porth depot alone was operating 74 motor vehicles - three years later there were over 200 vehicles.
