Strictly Come Dancing: Hamza Yassin's mum's pride at former Wellingborough School pupil's achievement". Northamptonshire Telegraph. 16 December 2022 . Retrieved 16 December 2022. McDonald, Sally (19 September 2022). "Countryfile's Hamza Yassin on why Highland life will help him on the dancefloor". The Sunday Post . Retrieved 28 September 2022.

This is a fab book that I think all children should have on their bookshelf, either at home or at their early years setting they attend. It promotes their understanding of the world, as well as most of the other 6 areas of learning.

Thank you to Net Galley, Quarto Publishing Group - Ivy Kids, and Ranger Hazma for an Advanced Reader's Copy. I happily share my review of this book. Let's Go For A Walk is a fantastic interactive picture book that you can take with you on walks or hikes and read aloud to Littles to prompt them to use all of their senses to experience the world around them. There is so much detail and vocabulary in this book introduced in a fun and interesting way. The illustrations are vibrant and appealing to young children. Hamza Ahmed Yassin (born 22 February 1990) is a British wildlife cameraman and presenter, known for his role as Ranger Hamza on the children's television channel CBeebies and his work on shows such as Countryfile and Animal Park, as well as presenting programmes about Scottish wildlife. [1] In 2022, he won the twentieth series of the BBC contest Strictly Come Dancing.

Hamza Yassin’s true passion is for nature, and he regularly roams the outdoors to capture its beauty on film as a wildlife cameraman. Thank you to Net Galley, Ranger Hamza and the publisher for sharing this book with me in exchange for an honest review. #LetsGoForaWalk #NetGalley This wonderful little book with it's joyful rhyming verse, dynamic text along with enchanting illustartions of children of many colors will become a favorite of your child and maybe even yourself!

[9] [10] In late 2020, he presented Scotland: My Life in the Wild, a one-off Channel 4 documentary about his life and the wildlife living on the Ardnamurchan peninsula in the Highlands of Scotland. [11] The more time we spend with this wonderful picture book, the more we love it and the more we hope it gets into the hands of children around the world. Alao, Lola Christina (6 October 2022). Not only does it focus on nature and immersing yourself in it, but it also includes educational suggestions to do on the go, such as finding the alphabet or numbers in your everyday surroundings, from street signs to billboards, and encourages learning in all its many forms. While working on BBC One’s Wild Isles last year the call came for Hamza to join the Strictly Come Dancing line-up, and he swapped his waterproof hiking boots for a pair of dancing shoes. He became a familiar face to the nation and took home the Glitterball trophy, but the months spent on gruelling training inside a London studio made his desire to be outdoors stronger than ever. In this film he reunites with some of the videographers who he worked on Wild Isles with, including his friends and mentors Simon King and John Aitchison, and many more. Walking in the country, by the sea, or in the town, so many wonderful things to see if you stop and look around! Go on your very own walk guided by Ranger Hamza with this book that can be used again and again.Take this book with you on any walk, wherever you live, with suggestions from Ranger Hamza for things to look out for. Can you see a red thing? A tall thing? Can you find something smooth, and something rough? What can you smell, and what can you hear? As well as things to spot on the walk, each spread contains fascinating Hamza facts. As an early years educator, I think this book is a must have to support young children and a great way to promote exercise and getting outdoors! Yassin has appeared on The One Show and as a guest presenter on Countryfile, [12] and in 2021 he joined the BBC series Animal Park about the lives of keepers and animals at Longleat Safari Park. [13] [14] In the same year, he presented Scotland: Escape to the Wilderness, a four-part Channel 4 series in which he took four celebrities ( Martin Clunes, Baroness Warsi, Ben Miller and Richard Coles) to wild locations around Scotland, showing them the local wildlife. [15] If you're looking for a fun book with lots of simple nature-based activities and facts for the young years, this may be perfect for you! Hamza started his journey at the beginning of this year with a desire to film his favourite raptors. He finishes it with hope for the future, having experiences and conversations along the way which he will never forget.

The book goes on to look at shapes, numbers and letters in the environment. There is so much to learn! This is a great book all about different things that can be discovered on a walk. It links to the cbeebies series 'Let's go for a walk and is written by the presenter Ranger Hamza. When you go for a walk, how many colours can you see? What do you hear? Or perhaps you notice the interesting smells? Some things are easy to spot, like tall buildings or fluffy clouds, but some, like ants and other bugs, are so teeny tiny that you have to look very closely or even use a magnifying glass. Birds of prey are powerful, majestic, beautiful, charismatic, intelligent. What I think of when I wake up, what I dream about” he says. It is this devotion to birds of prey which propels Hamza across the UK to capture the birds soaring above civilisation. But while none of these are new to me (even as a kid I looked all around me and dashed left and right to see everything, haha, hello ADHD), I am sure that many kids could use a reminder that a walk is not just walking, but also looking, imagining, having fun, collecting, and more.
