About this deal

Peter H. Reynolds’ illustrations are always wonderful and this book introduces the reader to what the Moody family look like (including their cat called Mouse) and how expressive they all are. My favourite illustration in this book is Judy’s finished collage. I really enjoyed this reread. I discovered Judy Moody and Stink at my local library (yay libraries!) almost a year ago and have read all of each series that my library owns. While I do have a few favourites in each series there hasn’t been a single one I haven’t enjoyed. Starting from scratch again with Judy reminded me how much fun these books are and I’m now keen to reread them all. Divided into fairly episodic short chapters, this entertaining read tells the story of how Judy Moody started third grade. Younger readers will feel for Judy's bad moods and frustrations over the class's "Me" project and the attempts at friendship from paste-eating boys. Judy is no girly girl, and she's determined and opinionated. Her relationship with younger brother Stink is realistically divided between friendship and animosity, and her friendships with classmates are equally authentic. Plenty of illustrations bring Judy's quirky personality to life, and the size and style of the book, combined with plenty of kid humor - make it great for readers who are just getting into chapter books. Judy is not happy about starting third grade, where she just knows she will have to sit next to Frank again. Frank, who eats paste and who gave her five valentines in kindergarten, cupcakes on numerous holidays in first grade, and who indeed is in the seat next to her when she arrives in her third grade classroom, and immediately passes her an invitation to his birthday party. Sheesh!

Judy reminded me of characters in my own childhood reading in this episode, from Judy Blume and Paula Danziger books. The newly-educated environmental enthusiast. Mau tahu isi kolasenya apa? Berikut ini adalah segala sesuatu yang harus diisi Judy di kolasenya:One of the only good things that happens that day is a school assignment where each student needs to make a collage all about themselves which they will later be presenting to the class. Judy thinks this sounds like fun but of course that doesn’t match her mood so she won’t tell anyone she’s looking forward to working on it. Bakso Erik, dink maksudnya.. (tuh satu kali ya, Aki Nan Keren Tiada Tara..eh, udah dua tuh..ihihihihi).. hix..harusnya bisa ngakak di keseluruhan buku ini, tapi malah berkaca-kaca waktu ayah Judy muncul bawa kamera..hix More recently, Megan McDonald has recalled some of her own childhood with the warmth, humor -- and squabbles -- of three spunky sisters in THE SISTERS CLUB. Megan McDonald began her career as a children's librarian, working at Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, Minneapolis Public Library, and Adams Memorial Library in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. Her first book, Is This a House for Hermit Crab?, came as a result of patrons asking her where to find a story she had told to children at a library. [1]

Children's Choice Book, International Reading Association/Children's Book Council (CBC), for Is This a House for Hermit Crab?

For Megan McDonald, being able to speak up for herself wasn't always easy. She grew up as the youngest of five sisters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her father, an ironworker, was known to his coworkers as "Little Johnny the Storyteller." Every evening at dinner the McDonalds would gather to talk and tell stories, but Megan McDonald was barely able to get a word in edgewise. "I'm told I began to stutter," she says, leading her mother to give her a notebook so she could start "writing things down." The Judy Moody books are great fun. Judy has a big personality for such a little girl. She also has great friends, classmates, teachers, and family that all play a part in the stories.Judy Moody. Lagi mood. Bukan mood bagus. Mood jelek. Liburan udah selesai. Waktunya masuk sekolah. Tapi dia belom pergi kemana-mana selama liburan musim panas. Untunglah, dia udah makan ikan hiu. Jadi, mood jeleknya sedikit terobati. Megan Jo McDonald is an American children's literature author. Her most popular works is the series of books which concern a third grade girl named Judy Moody (written for grades 2–4). McDonald has also written many picture books for younger children and continues to write. Her most recent work was the Julie Albright series of books for American Girl.

Megan McDonald's book, Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer, was adapted to a movie with the same name released in 2011, directed by John Schultz, with Jordana Beatty in the role of Judy Moody. [2] McDonald co-wrote the screenplay with Kathy Waugh. [3] Awards [ edit ] At school, Judy’s class are doing a project on the environment and how we are destroying it and how it can be saved. The pupils are to come up with some ways to help save the Earth. They are also learning about endangered animals and are each given an animal to find out about. Judy’s was the ‘North-east Tiger Beetle’, which she found there was very little information about. The readability remains suitable for a 9 year old or older, and hopefully boys will be interested in this rather neutral female lead.

Judy Moody doesn't have high hopes for third grade. But she does have an abundance of individuality and attitude, and when Mr. Todd assigns the class a special Me Project, she really gets a chance to express herself! Megan McDonald's spirited text and Peter Reynolds's wry illustrations will delight any kid who's known a bad mood or a bad day - and managed to laugh anyway. Still occasionally moody about life, Judy here learns with her class about a few of the problems facing the world today (and some incredibly current - plastic use and recycling), and 'begins at home' with several schemes that flummox and frustrate her family. She and her brother enter a 'band aid' (UK: plaster) competition to design a new winning band aid. The whole book pivots around the theme of saving the world, which is no bad thing at all for this age group.
