About this deal

The dub version of this episode is downright hilarious; most of the memetic quotes spawned by the Omni Productions dub originate from this episode.

This mold was also redecoed to make Metrotitan, with some retooling for ramps compatible with the various Micromaster/Micro Transformer bases. While searching for the answers behind the mysterious return of the Titans, Megatron is confronted by the Combiners who are determined to kill him.Metroplex returned to Cybertron, where he served as a base of operations for Alpha Trion while he began his endeavours to restore the damaged planet to habitability. Despite his prodigious strength and size, Metroplex was of little use in battle against the Insecticon swarm that had overrun Cybertron (the swarm was simply too great in size, and would eat their way inside his systems before he could destroy them all), so instead, Alpha Trion resurrected the deceased Ironhide to carry out the task. Once Ironhide had reduced the swarm's numbers to a mere two hundred, Alpha Trion had Metroplex transform to robot mode and crush the remaining Insecticons beneath his massive palms. Subsequently, Alpha Trion and Metroplex left Cybertron for parts unknown, off to put into motion the next move in the great, enigmatic game Alpha Trion was playing. Any Old Iron The plant's name, "buridanka", is completely omitted from the subtitles, with the vegetation only being referred to as "carnivorous plant". As energy became scarce, Fortress Maximus could no longer move and ground to a halt in robot mode in Tarn, where his frozen, towering form was repurposed as a prison by the Builders. Cerebros himself died at some point, but his consciousness remained active within Maximus through three Cyberdroids: Gran, Kord, and Plasma. Fortress Maximus, also known as Brave Maximus (ブレイブマキシマス Bureibu Makishimasu), is a colossal Autobot guardian hidden on Earth to protect the planet from evil. Immense in strength, unmatchable in firepower and impregnable in durability, Fortress Maximus's only weakness is his compassion for children. Fortress ("Cerebros" in the subtitles) bizarrely asks "What's that?" when confronted with the Master Sword. A better translation would have been "That...?"

No instructions show this, but in a bizarre case of convergent engineering, Grandus in transport mode can combine with Metroplex in transport mode via the pegs on the former's shoulders, and the fist holes on the latter. Jizai Gattai indeed.

Raiden and Bruticus pull blades of their own out of nowhere for an impromptu laser sword duel somewhere in the general mayhem. This would go on to inspire the "Light Sword" accessory included with Raiden's Masterpiece toy some thirty years later. Kre-O Fire Convoy wears a Kre-O Optimus Prime helmet piece painted up to resemble Super Fire Convoy.

Later, Buster was found in the Arctic due to a distress signal. Cerebros was once again seen when Spike transformed from Fortress Maximus's head to Cerebros and again to Spike's binary-bonded suit to show Buster that he was his brother. Dark Star Once Buster was retrieved and home safe, Spike saw no reason to continue his campaign with the Autobots, and so he tried to return to his previous life. Unfortunately, Decepticons came looking for him, and Spike had to telepathically call on the power of Fortress Maximus's body from space. Cerebros was very (very) briefly seen as Spike transformed into Fortress Maximus's head. The Man in the Machine! When a lighting storm spooked the Autobots, Spike wrote about the experience in his diary the next morning, then tried to explain the phenomenon to his robot friends with the aid of his father. Intrigued by the idea of energy that fell from the sky, Optimus Prime had Huffer construct a lightning rod to collect it, and Spike and Sparkplug were on hand as the finishing touches were added to the project. That night, Spike monitored weather forecasts and alerted the Autobots to the arrival of a new storm so they could see the machine in action. Autobots' Lightning Strike Fortress Maximus was reissued in February 2024. This mold was later retooled into Legends Fortress' Headmaster stage, and into Transformers & Downtown No Gaki No Tsukai Ya Arahende! Crossover Donarimasu& Guchirimasu Headmaster units.Fire Convoy and his Autobots were still on Earth in 2003 when a new threat arose. To deal with this, the Spychangers were granted Spark Engines that gave them Super forms. The Secret of the Birth of the Super Spychangers Unite Warriors As a sensitive new-age guy, Metroplex was one of the few Autobots who did not have issues with the size of his gun.

When the Rarefied Energon of his world caused Earth to come alive as the entity called Gaea, Spike and all other Earth-lifeforms were teleported across dimensions to inhabit a new Earth. The Future Buried... Spike and his allies set out to uncover the mysteries of this new world; while all the cities and animals on this planet were the same as their old one, no humans appeared to have called this Earth home prior to their arrival. Buster set up Spike, Vroom, Crossblades, and Elizabeth with an apartment in Yucatán, but the group found it difficult to both get themselves employed and investigate a mysterious radio signal burst detected in the area. Later, Trypticon was once again threatening the Autobots, but Metroplex was unable to intervene due to him missing his transformation cog. When Ironhide and Fireflight managed to deliver and instal the component, Metroplex transformed to robot mode and sent Trypticon tumbling into the sea with one mighty punch. Monstrosity Under the name "Super Fire Convoy", Optimus was a candidate in TakaraTomy's Masterpiece Fan's Choice poll, which asked fans to determine which Autobot/Maximal leader from the franchise's then-30 year history should receive a new toy in the prestigious Masterpiece line. He placed fifth, with 4.9% of the vote. Metroplex was constructed in the late 1980s as part of the Autobots' "Scramble City" initiative to develop a powerful battle station. During the early stages of the project, however, when the Autobots were conducting an outdoor test of the unfinished city's transformation to mobile fortress mode, Astrotrain and Reflector were able to monitor the process. The information they acquired allowed Megatron to decipher whether or not Metroplex would be able to stand up to Trypticon. Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers #3 Cog and his components were variously miscolored in almost every appearance in the Headmasters book. Such art errors were common in the miniseries. The one time any of his components was colored right was when Grommet was shown fighting alongside the Decepticons.

Fans in Japan joke that Optimus Prime is an Autobot Emperor of Destruction rather than an Autobot Supreme Commander, due to his actions in the Car Robots anime. He can transform into either a multi-wheeled aircraft carrier or a city mode, and both modes are specifically designed and scaled to interact with the Thrilling 30 Legends Class toys. For both modes, Metroplex's head transforms into a turret with 5mm handles, and a ramp extends from the right side of his chest. His aircraft carrier mode is armed with the (now-extended) cannons on his shoulders, has an articulated repair claw arm attached via 5 mm post at the end of the runway, and has both a flip-out double-barreled turret and a mini heli-pad on the left shoulder. Meanwhile, his city mode has numerous roadways, ramps, and compartments, is armed with a flip-out turret on his right forearm, and the left side of his chest opens up, revealing hidden sculpted weaponry at the bottom half, as well as a larger heli-pad and two flip-out pillars of unknown purpose at the top half. This incarnation of Optimus later inspired the name and design of Fire Prime in the Animated storybook " Bots of Science". Wheelie: "But it is your fault, Chromedome! You shouldn't have let Sparkle join in the fight! You should have known that yourself!"
