These laptops all shine in different areas, but ultimately the Dell Inspiron can be found for cheaper and is a more comfortable laptop to use than the Zenbook 14 (the most portable and pricey of the bunch) or Surface Laptop Go (the most premium-feeling and worst-performing of the bunch). Enjoy a more expansive viewing experience with the 15.6 inch Full HD, slim bezel display. Dell's CinemaStream feature delivers a virtually lag-free video streaming experience by prioritising it ahead of other network traffic for uninterrupted entertainment.
Hard drive retention: Hard drive retention is not available on models with a soldered hard drive, including XPS 9315 2in1, Chromebooks or Venue tablets, except the Venue 11 Pro.The body itself isn’t flashy: it’s a dull dark gray plastic with a sandy finish. This finish does a good job of masking fingerprint smudges, and it isn’t slippery if your hands get balmy. If you want to use the Inspiron on your lap, it shouldn’t be an issue, as it weighs just under four pounds and stays cool and quiet during high loads. It’s rare to find a laptop without a USB-C port of some kind, and we’re disappointed Dell skimped out on the Inspiron. You can add it as a configuration, but it should be standard with every model. While the screen has its imperfections that we’ll discuss later, it does have a decently wide viewing angle. Plus, it has a touchscreen—a pleasant surprise at this price. In general, the touchscreen was responsive and presented no issues during casual use. Meanwhile, the speakers are reasonably loud and clear if you need to blast some music or a Zoom meeting.

That’s a bit heavy for school-going students although it isn’t that different from similarly priced products. Over on the bottom, it has an air-intake chamber while there’s an Inspiron logo at the center. Now, the keys here are actually quite stiff, so they require a firm push. This isn’t a problem when you’re typing for a short duration. But for someone in my line of work who has Google Docs opened for almost 9-10 hours, it’s kind of annoying since my arms start to hurt after a couple of hours.
