The Soundboks series’ sound quality has improved with each new version. The Soundboks 4 has improved clarity and detail over the Soundboks 3 and better bass performance. If you need more power from the Soundboks, you can wirelessly pair two speakers together for improved soundstage and volume. The dynamic performance is impressive, and pushing the volume will only have a minor impact on the sound quality. Audio Connections The USB powebank port can be used for charging phones or tablets. Assuming that the capacity of the battery is 15,600mAh, you can fully recharge Samsung S9 or iPhone X 5 times. Aiwa speakers are a good choice for anyone looking for a quality sound system. The company has a long history of producing quality audio equipment, and their speakers are no exception. They offer a wide range of models to choose from, so you can find the perfect set of speakers for your needs. Whether you’re looking for a simple stereo system or a high-end surround sound setup, Aiwa has a speaker system that will suit your needs. Will you be outdoors often? Are you planning on taking this speaker everywhere? Is there a risk of dirt/sand/moisture? Do you want a speaker with an app? Then the hyperboom is a no brainer... and — you will be VERY happy with it! If you’ve never listened to an Exos 9, you’ll find pretty much nothing to complain about because it sounds great!

To start, the Exos-9 is big, heavy and loud, which makes it perfect for kid’s basement parties and both indoor and outdoor get-togethers. Even though the Exos-9 can be used outdoors, it is neither waterproof nor water resistant. Aiwa does offer an optional carrying case which gives the speaker an IPX4 splash and dustproof rating. JBL Boombox has an amazing battery. The capacity is 20Ah and the advertised continuous playtime is 24h (at moderate volumes). The recharge takes up to 7h and you can use it even while charging. But if you want to become nostalgic, you’ll have to take a little hit: The original manufacturer was sold to Sony in 2002 and ceased operations in 2006. In 2013, the brand rights were sold to “River West Brands”, which cooperated with “Hale Devices”. The latter company subsequently renamed itself “Aiwa” and is responsible for the device we tested. The Soundboks Go is a new Bluetooth speaker on the market, and it doesn’t fail to live up to the Soundboks models that came before it. While the much larger Soundboks 3 model offers 126 dB of volume, the now more widely available Soundboks Go brings 121 dB. Portability Exos-9 looks like a good old boombox player. It resembles the old Aiwa boomboxes but it’s stylized and more attractive.

Is Aiwa Exos-9 Waterproof?

Lastly, the adaptive EQ technology of the Ultimate Ears Hyperboom is a game-changer, providing impeccable sound quality no matter where you place the speaker. Things we don’t like Fact 3 : The difference between dangerous and acceptable loudness (aka SPL or sound pressure level) is actually very small and subtle. For example, exposure to 90dB SPL for more than 8 hours/day can already cause noise-induced hearing loss. 90dB is the average noise that a lawnmower produces. If the noise level (SPL) increases by only 10dB (to 100dB), the max allowed exposure time is only 2h/day. Anything longer than that will, in the long run, cause some damage. On the right side of the speaker, there’s a new control panel that looks very similar to the old one but has one additional button. Aside from the large volume dial and power button, there’s the HOST button for wireless daisy-chaining (allows you to pair multiple NEW SOUNDBOKS speakers together). JBL PartyBox 300 is not very rugged and it has no IPX rating, so you should be careful around pools. To simplify things, two characteristics you can usually find in the specs list determine the max SPL of a speaker and can tell you how loud a speaker can be at max volume. The first one is the sensitivity (usually measured in dB at 1m distance while only 1W of power is supplied). The second one is the power rating (peak power output, to be more specific). The power output is measured in Watts (W). When you know these two values, you can tell how loud a speaker can be. You just need to know one more rule – when the power doubles, the SPL level increases by 3dB.

The speaker houses a large battery compartment on the left side. The battery (also called the BATTERYBOKS 2) is removable/replaceable and rechargeable. You can buy as many batteries as you want and never stop partying. One battery will provide 40h at moderate volumes (or 5h at max volume). The treble is really smooth, and doesn't have much of a sparkle or presence, but you can EQ that from the built-in EQ of the speaker, which means that you can enjoy a much more sparkly and enjoyable speaker if you take a few moments to tweak it. This will come in really handy if you'll be holding a party, as a somewhat V-Shaped sound will be the most enjoyable one for a partyPrioritize sound quality when choosing a Bluetooth speaker. Opt for one with a total harmonic distortion below 1% and a solid frequency response. Lower distortion levels result in better audio quality, while a wider frequency response range indicates better bass and treble capabilities. 3. Size: Limit Exposure Time: Avoid listening to loud music or sounds for extended periods. Prolonged exposure to high volumes can cause cumulative damage to your hearing. Make sure to take breaks and give your ears time to recover. Exos-9 can be connected to different audio sources (phones, tablets, PCs) via Bluetooth or via AUX input. The speaker features support for A2DP ( Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) and AAC, aptX, and SBC audio codecs. It also supports fast pairing thanks to the NFC feature (it can be used for pairing with NFC-enabled Android devices). It is also possible to pair two Exos-9 speakers together thanks to the LINK feature. Aiwa Exos-9 is a battery-operated speaker. The battery is not built into the speaker and it can be removed and replaced. The bass is powerful and punchy but controlled. The mids are very detailed and dynamic, and highs are perfectly clear. You will get this kind of neutral sound signature when the EQ is off. If you want bassier sound, or if you want to emphasize the voices and midrange, you can play with EQ presets and those adjustable EQ bands (+/- 12dB) and find the type of sound that you like. Exos-9 is also very loud. It’s one of the loudest Bluetooth speakers on the market (max SPL is rated at 100+dB) which makes it great for parties. The distortion is almost nonexistent and the bass stays controlled and it doesn’t overpower the midrange even at full volume.Unlike all the previous big Bluetooth speakers, Bose SoundTouch 30 is not portable, but it features Bluetooth connectivity and it’s loud, which means it meets the most important requirements. That’s why it’s on the list and it’s our top recommendation if you are looking for the loudest multiroom speaker. Overall, this is a case where the entire product description, design and aesthetics make it look and feel like it was made to be portable, pretty much like the AIWA EXOS 8, but instead, it is very much a speaker you’ll mostly leave and use at home. Just like the Vifa Copenhagen 2.0, it is not intended to leave your room, although if you really want and try to, you will be able to take it on a little trip with you, if you’ll be able to bear the weight.

We listened to more songs than those named in this playlist, but those are excellent for identifying a sonic signature. I recommend trying most of the songs from this playlist, especially if you’re searching for new music! The playlists are different for Spotify, Tidal and Youtube, and based on the songs I enjoy and are available on each!AIWA EXOS 9 is in a class of its own, being a bluetooth speaker, but not a very portable one, thanks to its weight, which is almost funny high, of about 7 KG, but it has a lot going on for it, including APT-X, a battery of about 15600 mAh, and even built-in EQ. Since it is a bluetooth speaker, it won’t have any pairings, and there are no actual comparison point for it at the moment, but don’t worry, as soon as I’ll be reviewing a speaker that matches its description, it will get compared to Exos 9. This being said, the Yamaha WX-021 Music Cast 20 is similar in concept and price, and Edifier Luna also works as a comparison point, and to make it three, I will also add Edifier S1000DB to the comparison list. So, there is quite a bit to talk about EXOS 9, it is a unique product with a lot going on for it. First, and foremost, you have to imagine that this is a huge speaker. This ain’t one of those small-ish portable Bluetooth speakers, this is something that will keep your party going if you install it in a large hall. It will also provide a beautiful bass, and I have fallen in love with the bass more than anything from its sound. S1 Pro is a stylish and easily recognizable Bluetooth speaker. It features an angular design that allows you to place it on a side or vertically. You can even mount it on a stand . It feels rugged and durable, but it is not water-resistant or waterproof . Near-field communication (NFC) enables compatible devices to connect to a speaker via Bluetooth simply by tapping them together.
