About this deal

Our team is made up of book lovers who are dedicated to sourcing and providing the best books for kids. Hugless Douglas and the Big Sleep is a perfect picture book that children and adults will love, whether at bedtime or any other time of the day. Rabbit is happy to see everyone and invites them all inside, but however hard they push and pull, Douglas doesn’t fit.

It’s a great book to read aloud because the children can join in with you by making the sounds, like SPLOSHY! All of our books are 100% brand new, unread and purchased directly from the publishers in bulk allowing us to pass the huge savings on to you! We work closely with publishers and authors to ensure that we offer the best books on the market for your child. Nothing incredible in the story telling, but the pictures are quite amusing and adorable and I think I would have enjoyed them as a kid especially. It could be used in PSHE to highlight the importance of developing relationships, and in understanding the importance of showing compassion to others. p>Read about how we'll protect and use your data in our Privacy Notice. Poor Hugless Douglas just wants to find someone to hug, but it isn't as easy as you'd think when you're a big bear! Full details of your rights under the Distance Selling Regulations are available in the UK from your local Citizens' Advice Bureau or your Local Authority's Trading Standards Office. My children's favourite part is in the back of the book where there are 20 or so illustrations of the characters in the book hugging in a variety of fun ways.

Catchy text, beguiling illustrations and a gooey heart-warming ending finished with a generous helping of how-to-hug-time.

I think a lot of kids (and adults) will get a kick out of this story of the baby bear Douglas who wakes up and feels like he really needs a hug. It’s quite amusing for the reader to follow Douglas looking for a hug and hugging some less than huggable things and being, including those who don’t want a hug. In the other books they’ve modeled different hugs and hats, and in Hugless Douglas and the Big Sleep they model the different things you would take for a sleepover.

Compared to the outstanding picture books like the Knuffle Bunny or Olivia series I'm reading over and over again with my toddler at the moment, this was more of a standard, run-of-the-mill picture book. Hugless Douglas fits right in with the well-loved classics like Winnie the Pooh and Paddington Bear and will be remembered for many years to come. Applicability of cancellation rights: Legal rights of cancellation under the Distance Selling Regulations available for UK or EU consumers do not apply to certain products and services. Children will beg for them to be read again and again, and I’m sure parents will be only too willing to. We will process the refund due to you as soon as possible and, in any case within thirty (30) days of the day we confirm via e-mail that you are entitled to a refund for defective goods. He’s the bear that nobody wants to hug (apart from everyone who reads the book) and who ruins his wooly hat. Before you all start panicking, I have not started spawning a tribe of miniature goodreaders - the earth will be safe from that calamity for a while yet.

All of these books are great for older children too, but I’ve chosen these because they work particularly well for this age group. This is not intended to be a full statement of all your rights under the Distance Selling Regulations. Fancy Dress Farmyard is great for preschoolers because it’s a game of peekaboo and the illustrations are bright, bold and funny. As a childminder I read this book at the request of the children at least once a day, we use it to discuss feelings and friendships but mainly it is just a very sweet book with a loveable character the children can relate to.
