Neil Young announces the December 2nd release of a 50th Anniversary Edition of his 1972 album ‘Harvest’.

Both sets come with a poster and a hardcover book which includes never-before-seen photos along with extensive sleeve notes by photographer Joel Bernstein. The Asylum Years (1972-1975) will be available as a 5CD with an accompanying book featuring photos and a conversation about this period between Joni Mitchell and longtime . His fourth solo album remains one of the most beloved in his catalogue and is full of with songs which have become all-time classics. The Harvest Time DVD is a 2-hour treasure trove of Neil playing with what was likely the most talented band he ever assembled. Additionally, the hardbound book will include never-before-seen photos along with extensive liner notes by photographer Joel Bernstein.

The final piece of the Harvest box set (besides a book and photographs) is a two-hour documentary, directed by Young, of the making of the album and Young’s life on his California ranch. The 50th Anniversary Edition will be released on triple-vinyl and triple-CD, both of which features the original album; a disc of three studio outtakes from the original Harvest sessions (‘Bad Loneliness’, ‘Journey Through The Past’ and ‘Dance Dance Dance’); and an unreleased live BBC solo performance.

The film Harvest Time is a previously unseen 2-hour documentary filmed in 1971, documenting the Harvest sessions. The two DVDs provide a new glimpse into Harvest, including Harvest Time (an unreleased two-hour film shot during the making of Harvest, with footage from Young’s Harvest Barn sessions in Northern California and recording sessions in Nashville and London) and film of the unreleased solo BBC Concert recorded on February 23rd, 1971.
