About this deal

The benefit of a wireless remote is that you have even less contact with the camera so camera shake is even less likely, plus you can fire the shutter from a distance. To switch from face detection to manual focus-area selection, press the center of the focus stick (focus lever) ( a Focus-Point Selection). It is the nature of release mounts to be very shallow, this is because if they were made any deeper adding a soft release button could interfere with the cameras electronics.

The Fujifilm XF 23mm F2 R WR delivers a 35mm full-frame equivalent field of view and stands out due to its small size and weather-resistant build. Fuji X100v unlabeled Fn button One of my favourite images I’ve taken with the X100V so far – with the ND filter I was able to shoot with narrow depth of field and a slow enough shutter speed to capture movement. The first gen A7 cameras were awful in terms of their button and menu layout, and the second gen not much better either. Finally, as I also said at the beginning, please do feel free to comment below with anything you have set up differently! High-speed sync up to 1/8000sec is possible with the flashgun, but since X100 series cameras have a leaf shutter they will sync at any shutter speed up 1/4000sec anyway. I’m not going to say I “saw the light”, but it did convince me that I needed to spend a bit more time forcing the Sonys I used for work to function better for me. If [MODELING FLASH] is selected when a compatible shoe-mounted flash unit is attached, you can press the control to test-fire the flash and check for shadows and the like (modeling flash). To reduce the risk of fire, never leave vintage electrical or electronic products plugged in unattended.

It seems daft to me, but – despite the daft way it’s peddled – I do like the idea of having a crop mode. Some of my friends have dubbed me a philistine for 'wasting' half (more likely (three quarters) of the features available on this camera. The idea being that it can be set up so a swipe of the screen either up, down, left or right activates a mode.To enable personalised advertising (like interest-based ads), we may share your data with our marketing and advertising partners using cookies and other technologies.

Of course, the same could apply to any subject I suppose, but I don’t find it useful at all in any other way I’ve shot it so far.

Enabling [FACE SELECT] op allows the focus stick (focus lever) or (during viewfinder photography) touch controls ( a EVF) to be used to select the face that will be used for focus. Something that I’ve done on my X-T3 is turn off the touchscreen mode indicator on the screen, and then have touchscreen mode controlled through the quick menu.

I have so far only shot RAW, and it’s no exaggeration to say that I haven’t even got as far as working out how to put the camera into video recording mode. This isn’t perfectly ideal, but I suppose if I like the touch screen in some instances and not others, I’ll just have to put up with the shortcomings. When I first got the X-T2, I read the Fujifilm X-T2 manual and relevant sections of Rico Pfirstinger’s book, “The Fujifilm X-T2: 120 X-Pert Tips to Get the Most Out of Your Camera” to configure some critical features in the menus and set up the Fn buttons. The Godox TT350F Flashgun for Fujifilm cameras is a large flashgun for X100 series cameras, but it provides a great deal more power than smaller flashguns and when paired with the Godox X1T-F TTL Flash Trigger it provides both manual and TTL wireless control for a huge amount of creative potential.

Finally, if you’re reading this having not read anything I’ve written before, let me preface everything I’m about to say by highlighting the fact that I like my cameras to be as simple as possible. If none of that means anything to you, have a read of the article I linked to above and this article I wrote for Ilford photo a few years back where I talk a bit about circle of confusion and what it means when zone focusing. If you’d like to file an allegation of infringement, you’ll need to follow the process described in our Copyright and Intellectual Property Policy. Many do use them and have no issues at all, however there are examples with this sort of thing causing damage. If you press the little joystick button below it brings up the option to move the focusing spot around the screen.
