Composed by Vangelis for Ridley Scott's 1982 classic movie, the 'Blade Runner' soundtrack has assumed legendary status amongst fans of synthesizer music. I also have an original copy in CD format, and it's the same issue, great sound quality, and low output volume.

The film also features "Ogi No Mato" ("The Folding Fan as a Target" on Traditional Vocal and Instrumental Music from Nonesuch Records) by the Japanese group Ensemble Nipponia, and harpist Gail Laughton's "Pompeii 76 A. Villeneuve explained his decision to replace Jóhannsson with Zimmer in an interview with Al Arabiya. Flat sound in terms of volume, but if you have good equipment, no problem, excellent sound quality, and with the advantage of only one vinyl, GREAT. In 2018 this was available again as an "exclusive limited edition" of 3,000 copies on 180 gram vinyl for ''Start Your Ear Off Right 2018'' which is identical to this release with the sole addition of a Rhino sticker for ''Start Your Ear Off Right'' campaign in the upper left-hand corner. Missing a lot of highs and lows that are really distracting and take a lot away from the experience when you have heard the other master. The duo was brought in somewhat later in the production process, after the score's initial composer, Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson, ceased involvement due to creative differences. Examples where various disciplines come together to produce something as seminal as Blade Runner are rare, and this pressing is the perfect way to honour that. Wallfisch and Zimmer were able to craft not just one of the best scores of the year, but one of the most thrilling sci-fi scores in recent memory. The score evokes the film's bleak futurism with an emotive synthesizer-based sound, drawing on the jazz scores of classic film noir as well as neo-classical elements and Middle Eastern texture.
