About this deal

Mix 2-3kg of product with 4-5kg of sand per 100m2. Spread the mixture over the lawn by hand or with a spreader. I’ll also recommend how you can use all three products together to achieve ultimate moss control. A bowl of soluble powder usually applied at 4g per m2 When and how often to apply iron sulphate to your lawn Once the soil dries up, apply a lawn fertiliser to ensure that the soil gets the right balance of micronutrients. Otherwise, there may be a nutrient deficiency, hampering the growth of the grass. Add bicarbonates to the soil Ferrous or iron sulfate (also spelled sulphate) is a constituent of garden and lawn moss killers and some fertilisers. It is exactly the same chemical compound regardless of how it is sold or used. They may vary slightly in concentration and be mixed with other compounds but apart from that they are the same. Ferrous or Iron Sulphate as Moss Killer For turf hardening - aids disease and cold resistance and worm cast suppression apply: at 2+ grams per square metre in solution – up to 3 applications can be made with 1 to 2 being common

Here are the doses I’ve used for greening up and lawn gardening; they are both less than what I use for moss control:

How Much Lawn Fertiliser Should I Use?

Our iron sulphate is available in two forms – granules, which you have to dissolve yourself, and a liquid form. Liquid iron sulphate is exactly the same formula with all the same benefits and use cases as the granules described above, but it’s pre-dissolved in water. You should apply it the same way, at the same time, and at the same intervals as the granules, but you can skip the step where you dissolve it in water. However, our liquid formula comes with a unique benefit – it has added seaweed extract! Because it is not sold as a moss killer it is not required to be certified as a pesticide. This means it is cheaper but the benefit of being able to sell or market it as a moss killer is lost. Granular Fertiliser

After application, the moss turns from green to yellow or brown, which means that it’s dying off. This makes it easier to remove during scarifying, helping you restore your lawn to its former glory. You would never just apply pure granular iron sulphate to your grass. It always needs to be mixed with something before using it.Although you can scarify in spring, you’re in a race against weed growth, whereas in autumn time, the weeds are slowing down. You can also be more vigorous in your scarification in autumn than in spring. The Maxicrop 2.5L Moss Killer + Lawn Tonic features a seaweed extract which is what makes it more unique, combined with the all-powerful ferrous sulphate for killing moss. This tonic is designed to be applied mixed into water, making it easy to apply and much less likely to burn the lawn.
