Of course, the Marvel universe isn't going to sit by and let Thanos wield that much power, so they unite to battle him. So many of the integral characters--namely the Silver Surfer and Adam Warlock--simply haven't been introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. My knowledge of Marvel during this time is not as great as during its initial fifteen years or in the early 2000s so at first I struggled before getting into the story.

While everyone else is re-watching the Marvel movies to prep for "Avengers: Infinity War," I decided to read the actual source material. The Infinity Gauntlet was interesting and was a page turner until I finished the Infinity Gauntlet subsection. It seems like a minor thing, but it's frustrating to have to go back and see how much the characters know and what events have and have not happened for each issue. It's nice to have (40) as an add-on to the story, but it's largely a setup for 41-43 arc that's not included.

With a career dating back to the early 1970s, he is best known for "cosmic" tales and space opera; for revamping the Marvel Comics characters Captain Marvel and Adam Warlock; and for creating or co-creating the Marvel characters Thanos and Shang-Chi, Master of Kung Fu. This Mega crossover tells the odyssey of Thanos, who travels across the universe to collect the Infinity gems AKA Soul gems AKA Infinity stones and combines them using a badass gauntlet to achieve omnipotence. I hadn’t read this comic since I was really young, and I wanted to brush up on all of the post-snap details so I can make my predictions for Avengers 4 next year.

They are (usually) very good and really help flesh out the situation and just how far its effects are felt. The art is great in everything but Thanos Quest, where it gets too loud and trippy and the extras are neat. I love the blending of cosmic and arcane powers and the interactions of a broad range of characters from the Marvel Universe. Definitely came away feeling like I have a much better understanding of Thanos and impressed with some of the best writing of the Silver Surfer I've seen. It doesn't make any sense to plop them all at the end so that we are reading things that have already taken place.I read the trade which just collects the main series, issues 1-6, but this time around, I read all the Silver Surfer comics and a lot of Warlock comics leading into this. One would expect a crossover that is 1200+ pages would have a long lasting impact on most characters.
